A very portable high quality toy
kilovanni, 20.01.2021
The title is meant to be a compliment.

I use this this write simple MIDI-passages in DAWs and I also plug it to my Android phone to work as a portable synthesizer when I am working on some piece with my violin (I do not own nor have the space for a full sized keyboard). The couple of features this keyboard has, are intuitive to use and do not get in your way.

The keys are quite small, so if you have fat finger, I would look elsewhere. Otherwise the feel of the keys are quite good considering the price of this product. The last key (right-most C) is a bit crooked. The gap between the C and the B is a bit wider than between the other keys. It is visually noticeable, but does not affect playing the keys.

Pros:
- Cheap
- Nice feel for the price
- Few, but useful features
- Very portable. Works flawlessly as a plug-and-paly MIDI-controller for multiple devices. No need for any drivers.

Cons:
- Small keys
- The right-most C-key is crooked
- Does not work really well as your only MIDI-controller, if you are serious about making music.

A toy that does the job well!
Lars Norberg, 22.11.2020
I bought this to have a portable pressure sensitive solution for simple synth chords and drum programming. At that it delivers.

You can't exactly play Grieg with feeling on it. Or at all. But nobody buys a baby sized toy looking plastic feeling 2 octave keyboard to be a virtuoso. We buy it because we want something cheap, simple, small, that has a minimum amount of precision and pressure sensitivity and allows us to use it for simple tasks, rather than having to use the mouse and computer keyboard for those tasks.

I'm very happy with this purchase, it does exactly what I wanted it to!

For your typical MIDI usage, Akai delivers for cheap.
17.08.2016
The LPK 25 is a rather cheap MIDI controller from a good, respectable brand. The design's simplicity and price is very attractive, but one must think about it's uses.

Pros:
-Cheap and gets the job done.
-A few programmable buttons that can give you good use.
-Almost plug&play, with barely needing to do anything to get it to work.
-Attractive design. Looks very professional.

Cons:
-Compared to it's big brothers, the button features are rather limited, which is to be expected.
-The design may be appealing to the eye, but not so much to the hands. It feels a bit like cheap plastic but doesn't break as easily.
-The keys play alright, but below average of what you'd expect.

Bottom line, another good bang-for-the-buck MIDI controller. Probably the best at this price. If you can manage to save a bit more, I highly reccomend getting some of the better products Akai has to offer in comparison.

Good cheap keyboard
georgebranekov, 20.04.2020
Bought this little toy to patch together some keyboard lines and drum patterns into a DAW so that I can write down musical ideas in addition to sketching guitars. Very satisfied with the product, worked perfectly well straight out of the box (Windows 10, tried it also on Android for the laughs, it worked surprisingly well, actually). Keys are mushy to press, but can't really complain for the price. Size is tiny, which is great (this was to point of purchasing a small keyboard). My only real complaint is the choice of USB connector (mini-USB, I would have preferred either micro or type C), also it fills a bit shabby when plugging/unplugging, however, no big deal - as long as it works.
