It works.

Using it for home studio recordings, jamming with friends and guitar lessons.

Pros:
-Very solid made, has nice appearance, doesn't occupy much space.

-Super compatible, no need for drivers (using it with Mac OS Sierra & Logic Pro X).

-Very useful set of 3 switches, that easily redirect your signal between main/usb/monitors.

-Has all the send/return/rca inputs you would expect from a complete mixer.

-Good choice, if you want to mess around with your signal's options in an all-in-one, compact unit.

-Generally good enough effects for the price.

-The price is definitely adding up points to it.

Cons:
-The 16-bit depth, instead of 24. Haven't listen any major difference yet, but 16-bit is still pretty outdated for 2018.

-Not able for multi-track recording.

-Missing any XLR outputs.

-Would be much easier if the Phantom Power switch wasn't in the back.

-Power & USB cable connections could nest somehow in the case, instead of occupying space in the back.

-Low Headphones output.

-No mute button in the channel strips.

In conclusion, if you want to combine audio interface with a mixer, it works. If you don't share my compatibility concerns with Logic Pro, check out also the Mackie PROFX.

Alesis Multimix 8 USBfx

If your needs are relatively simple, this is a great product. Yes, the effects section, basic and inflexible, is irrelevent for me, but everything else is good. It has all the connectors (4x XLR, phantom powered, an extra couple of stereo line in, all very flexible). The audio quality seems really good. The case quality is really solid. It runs quite hot after a while, even though the power unit is separate - reminds me not to leave it on forever. USB connectivity with Mac is fine. Some software (Finale eg) takes some persuading to recognise the Alesis, to the point of restarting the software with the mixer connected - not totally plug-and-play. But this is no big problem. Good price too.

Using mainly for playing audio from DENON media player or turntable.
This is ok for home studio, materials could be more solid, like knobs , but for such price it is just fine. Effects are not very good here.
