klein, handlich, prima (eigentlich perfekt)

ich nutze 3 Maxis und 4 Light Cans um meine Auftritten als Hang / Handpanspieler durch Lichtambiente zu unterstützen und genieße es immer wieder die Teile aufzustellen wo ich es gerade für günstig erachte, ohne mir Gedanken machen zu müssen, wo die nächste Steckdose ist, oder wie ich ein DMX Kabel stolperfrei dorthin verlege. Bisher steuere ich die Units mit der kleinen Funkfernbedienung. Damit ist schon eine ganze Menge machbar (u.a. kann man mit den Units Gruppen bilden die man unterschiedlich steuert), Schade ist, dass die Farbwechselprogramme vom Tempo her eher in Richtung Disco gehen. Ein "unmerklicher" Farbwechsel von 5 Minuten scheint Lichtprogrammierern offenbar wenig sinnvoll, dabei sind die Ape Labs Produkte gerade für die Disco eher wenig geeignet, sondern prädestiniert für alles was mit Lichtambiente zu tun hat.
Wenig (bis überhaupt nicht) nachvollziehbar ist für mich folgender Umstand: Wenn ich die Leuchten per DMC Pult steuern will, brauche ich den Ape Labs Transceiver, der quasi als Sender hinter das Pult geschaltet wird. Dieser Transceiver benötigt wiederum eine Steckdose (für sein Netzteil) und ist für knapp 300,- Euro zu haben. Für das Geld kriege ich allerdings ( z.B. bei ADJ) ein akkubetriebenes Pult mit eingebautem Sender (zu neudeutsch: wireless )... Bleibt zu hoffen, dass hier vielleicht bald ein Umdenken bzw. Neukonzipieren bei Ape Labs stattfindet für ein ansonsten unschlagbares Produkt.

Wunderwaffe für mobile DJs

Nachdem ich über die lightcans auf Produkte der Firma Ape Labs gestolpert bin und diese ausgiebig getestet habe, bin ich mittlerweile ein Fan dieser nicht ganz günstigen, jedoch qualitativ hochwertigen Produkte geworden.

Die Möglichkeit die Ambientebeleuchtung über Funk und gleichzeitig zu steuern, hat mich dazu bewogen mir zunächst zwei Maxis zu bestellen.

Die Lampen kommen gut verpackt und schnell mit DHL.

Ausgepackt halte ich zwei massive, wertig Geräte in der Hand. Erster Eindruck ist sehr positiv, was jedoch auffällt, sind die teilweise doch scharfkantigen Ecken und Kanten. Hier könnte man nich etwas optimieren.

Die Geräte lassen sich mit dem Universalladegerät von ApeLabs laden. Man kann daher auch getrost das einzelne Gerät erwerben, wenn man bereits das ein oder andere Netzteil besitzt. Da ich bereits die Cans und den W-APP besitze, war das eine Möglichkeit, um ein paar Euro zu sparen.

Bei den ersten Einsätzen konnte ich Laufzeiten von über 11 Stunden bei Vollast erzielen. Die maximale Laufzeit konnte ich selbst noch nicht testen.

Von der Lichtausbeute war ich sehr angetan und finde nichts daran auszusetzen. Im Vergleich zu den Cans ist das mehr als das dreifache an Leistung, was aber auch unter anderem an den unterschiedlichen Linsen liegt.

Da ich von den Maxis so überzeugt bin, hab ich zur Steuerung den W-App erworben um künftig die Steuerung noch einfacher als mit Fernbedienung zu haben. Nicht zu letzt weil ich den synchronen StL Mode zu schätzen weiß.

Fazit:
Sobald wieder ein wenig Geld übrig ist, werden weitere Maxis angeschafft und die Ambientebeleuchtung komplett auf ApeLabs umgestellt.
Bei der Verarbeitung ziehe ich allerdings einen Stern wegen den scharfen Kanten ab.

Mehr geht nicht!!!

Ich habe sehr viele Strahler und vor allem Akku Spots getestet und bin mega begeistert. Wir haben inzwischen 24 Stück in 3 extra angefertigten Lade Cases (je 8 Stück statt normal 6) und wollen nichst anderes mehr (nutzen lediglich die Ape Labs Lightcans als Addons für gewisse Akzente).

Die Teile sind mega robust, klein, leicht und machen richtig helles Licht. Wir haben keinen Akku Strahler gefunden, der all diese Features so vereint. Die meisten sind entweder viel klobieger, schwerer oder schlecht verarbeitet. Da die Maxis locker 12-14 Stunden Rocken und dank des simplen Ladens dank der Koffer schnell geladen werden können, ist das einzige PRO Argument anderer Hersteller mit mehr Laufzeit wie weg gefegt (da die dann dafür eben entweder größer, schwerer oder hässlicher sind).

Die Maxis sind dank der Fernbedienung easy zu steuern (und dank der Technik geben die das Signal unter einander weiter) und mittels WAPE Module geht auch die super synchrone Sound To Light Funktion und die Ansteuerung durch DMX. Die App kommt ebenfalls in kürze!

Hohe Erwartungen, die dann übertroffen wurden

In meinem Bestand befindet sich mittlerweile ein 12er Set LightCans, dass um "konventionelle" LED-Lampen ohne Linsen-Effekte erweitert werden sollte. Was leigt näher, als ein dazu kompatibles Produkt zu kaufen? Der Name "Maxi" wirft seinen Schatten voraus: versprochen wird hoher Output und mehr als 14h Akkulaufzeit; dazu die Qualität und Verarbeitung "Made in Germany".

Tatsächlich ist der Output besser als erwartet; auch die 14h werden ApeLabs-typisch übertroffen und über die Verarbeitung brauchen wir nicht sprechen: passt. Edel sieht das Gehäuse in glänzender Edelstahl-Optik aus; vermutlich wird man aber nach ein paar Verwendungen Kratzer deutlich sehen können - aber > who cares?!

Alles in allem ist die Lampe absolut empfehlenswert. Ich nutze sie für Uplight drinnen und draußen (spritzwassergeschützt!). Hinstellen, ausrichten, anschalten, fertig - der Rest passiert mit der Fernbedienung.

Es werden ganz sicher weitere folgen; der Kurs fühlt sich für mich fair an. Einzig das Ladecase dürfte etwas niedriger liegen (das soll aber hier kein Thema werden).
