PERFECT MODULE !

Hi guys.

This module is just perfect if you want simple and very good sounding module to use with your e-kit. This is plug and play module and ATV company are almost every month adding new samples /sounds to the "sound store" and there you can buy them and add to your module. Very clever.

Can?t go wrong with this one.

Using it for recording and rehearsals. The sounds are very good if you configure everything properly. Some experimentation and testing is needed before obtaining the best sound though.

The one thing that buzzes me is that you cannot configure the triggers separately for each kit, but only the volumes. This is unpleasant because I want different kits in which I change the type of some of the drums. The drums really depend on the selected type / instance - different sounds, different feel - so it would have made sense to have different triggers in each kit... Unfortunately the trigger configurations are global for all kits.

Zusammenfassung:
Riesiger Dynamikbereich, perfektes Triggering, natürliche Sounds, leichte Anpassung an die eigene Spielweise.

Beim Spielen fällt als erstes die Dynamik auf. Man schlägt fest und der Sound passt dazu. Dann spielt man noch fester und es kommt noch mehr. Gefühlt ist der Dynamikbereich um den Faktor 2-3 höher als bei meinem bisherigen Roland Modul.

Die Becken gehen von zartem Säusseln bis bombastischen Anschlag.

Die Bassdrums klingen sehr akustisch, vielleicht etwas zu akustisch für manchen. Da wummern die Roland Module tiefer.
Ich find es toll, weil der Bassist und ich nicht mehr um den gleichen Frequenzbereich kämpfen sondern klarer herauszuhören sind.

5 mitgelieferte Kits erscheinen wenig, aber die sind echt gut.
An meinem alten hab ich mir 3 zurechtgebastelt und konnte alles damit spielen.

Die Verarbeitung ist sehr wertig und schwer.
Bei der Einrichtung hilft ein Crosstalk cancel wizzard, Unbedingt als erstes Ausführen. Starten und die Pads der Reihe nach fest anschlagen wie im Display angegeben.

Dannach den Trigger setup wizzard aufrufen. Pad anschlagen, Hersteller auswählen (aktuell Roland, Yamaha, Drum-Tec) , Pad Typ auswählen, dann 3 mal ganz leicht Anschlagen, anschließend 3 mal fest.
Das ist auch der Punkt an dem man die Pads ans eigene Spiel anpasst.

Die Feineinstellung kann man später in den Triggermenüs vornehmen, wenn man möchte.

Zuvor hatte ich ein TD4. Als das TD25 herauskam, spielte ich es in der Drumabteilung eines Lokalen Händlers.
Ich fand die Sounds nicht deutlich besser als am TD4.

Akustische Toms umgebaut mit R-Drum Triggern
Alles mit Remo silent stroke Mesh heads.
Hihat Roland CY5 mit FD8 Pedal
Crash1 Millenium MPS400
Crash2 Alesis Surge 12" (an Aux1 angeschlossen)
Kickdrum 2 millenium Kickpads mit 2 Einzelpedalen (2. Kick an Aux2 angeschlossen)
Ride, Milennium MPS600 ( da arbeite ich noch an einem Adapter (Keith Raper Schaltung) um die Glocke auch verwenden zu können)

Nachtrag:
Hab gerade die neue Firmware 1.20 eingespielt.
Nun ist ein Mixer direkt vom Home Screen aus erreichbar auf dem man für alle Pads die Lautstärke einstellen kann.

Im Setup habe ich nun Hihat Control mit GoEdrum, Hihat Stand und Millenium MPS400
als Roland VH11 eingestellt.

Une vraie boîte à bijoux

A la recherche d'une batterie électronique de haute qualité, dont le contenu du module ne serait pas encombré d'une multitude de menus et sous-menus, de fonctions inutiles, d'options illimités et dont les fûts, les cymbales permettraient la restitution de l'expérience "acoustique", j'ai découvert l'existence de la batterie ATV Artist Series.

Venant de l'univers des batteries acoustiques (type jazzette) et amateur de cymbales martelées à la main, le monde des batteries électroniques ne m'attirait que très peu. Mais bon, j'avais besoin de pouvoir jouer à n'importe quelle heure, d'enregistrer facilement, de traiter le son... Les dimensions de la ATV Artist Series et la conception de son module ont eu raison de ma méfiance... J'ai donc acheté la version "basic" avec le module de sons...

Le module de sons ATV aD5 est fantastique, sa taille, son boitier et sa conception. Tout est évident, simple et de très haute facture. Les sons internes sont quasi parfaits. Aucunes options de bidouille sur les sons, on les sélectionne, on en fait un kit et on joue. D'usine, 5 kits sont déjà installés (que l'on peut copier ou modifier). On trouve immédiatement celui qui nous plait.

Ensuite on peut créer des kits plus personnels. J'ai acheté tous les sons supplémentaires que propose ATV sur son Store en ligne, au total une cinquantaine de sons essentiels, habités et très réalistes. Ce sont des samples de très haute qualité : avec notamment Zildjian, Sabian pour les cymbales et Ludwig, Gretsch pour les fûts... exactement ce que je recherchais, sans même savoir que cela existait... Comblé !

Conseils : même si la ATV Artist Series est prête à jouer dès son installation, il est souhaitable de passer un peu de temps à la réception pour l'optimiser et en tirer le meilleur :
* (conseillé)
- enregistrer l'instrument sur le site ATV
- télécharger et installer le dernier Firmware (sur carte SD)
- régler les paramètres des triggers dans le module même
- calibrer la pédale de charleston (sans oublier d'activer le switch "ON" sur la bague de la base
- régler la dynamique (sensibilité) et les différents volumes des éléments des kits selon son jeu
- éteindre et rallumer

- s'inscrire sur le store ATV pour écouter les sons proposés et compléter sa librairie sonore. (certains sons sont téléchargeables gratuitement, les autres sont en vente).

** Remarque : les fûts et les cymbales sont connectés au module via une tresse de cables aux longueurs prédéfinies, donc le module se situera nécessairement vers la pédale de charleston.

Plus que très satisfait !!!
