Great interface for the price
Robin L, 15.04.2020
Pros:

- Great sounding pre's.
- Great driver user interface
- Easy to use both hardware and software
- The fact that there is an ADAT optical port makes this interface a great unit for people looking to expand their IO in the future
- Great looking device and with superior build quality compared to other interfaces. It feels similar to their big +100k consoles.
- The free plugins you get are also fantastic plugins and gets used daily
- Support is usually fast and accurate, especially on Facebook
- Unlike other similar priced or cheaper interfaces, doesn't "plop" my monitors and/or headphones when turning my computer on.
- You can hear the bass/guitar sound thicken when recording the guitar hot in the front D.I. It's really pleasant and natural sounding.

Cons:

The preamps only have 55dB of gain with a 10dB lift (named "pad" in the driver, not to confuse with a -10/20dB pad) done digitally.
You would assume to get 66db natively with an extra power chord needed.
This may mean, if you prefer hot signals, that you still want to get something like a Fethead or cloudlifter for certain broadcasting mics (SM7b.)
Not an issue for those doing post production but it might be an issue for people doing things live.

There is still an issue with certain USB ports (I believe USB3.1) where everything works perfectly fine, except that the driver interface lags when you want to turn the faders up and down.
In most cases, there are other type of USB ports, but some motherboards only one type of USB3.x so be aware of that.

The lack of a midi IO is a bit of a bummer but personally for me, the ADAT expansion is worth far more than MIDI since seperate MIDI input cards are rather cheap anyway.

Conclusion:

It's a great interface for those that want a simple experience but with options to expand their IO in the future.
The first channel will automatically change from XLR to D.I if you put an instrument cable in the front so you don't have to pull out the XLR in the back everytime you want to plugin a bass and guitar in, making it great for songwriters looking to move on quick.

The routing is also pleasantly done which means that it's perfect for voice over as well, Especially when working with other artists in a booth. It even includes talkback in the driver.

It has been worth far more than I paid for it. :)

absolut empfehlenswertes Audio Interface
azulejo, 22.12.2020

I use this interface for my small home studio
The pres sound excellent and quiet it can drive most dynamic/condenser microphones really well if not all. It also has an 10 dB software boost and it doesn't add that much of noise which is nice. The headphone amp drives my headphones better and much louder than my PC's one (Sound Blaster)
The only thing that bothers me sometimes is that it doesn't have an on/off switch so I have to unplug the USB cable and turn off the power.

Pros:
Clean and powerful preamps
ADAT connector
DI input very clean
Good amp for headphones
10 dB software boost
individual phantom power

Cons:
No on/off switch

It's everything you should expect from Audient!
pieman, 16.09.2017
I use my Audient ID14 with Logic Pro X and Harrison Mixbuss 32C and its superb!.

The mic pres are very clean, and don't seem to impart any colour into your sound. Some may see this as a negative issue, but to me at least its great as I can change the tone to any sound I like with plugins after the recording is done.

The front DI is very handy for recording guitars and basses through amp sim apps or with Logics built in amp modeling.

The headphone amp gets loud enough...but for me could get a touch louder as I always seem to have it up at the max setting...but the interface sounds so good its probably that I'm just enjoying using it so much that makes me turn things up louder than perhaps I should!

The monitor speakers on the main outputs (I use Alesis elevate 5 Mk2's) get very, very loud! and the output from this interface should be enough for anyone...and again, with these speakers sounds great.

You can assign different functions to the iD button...I have mine currently on 'Dim' but you can use the scroll wheel in the id mode to control items in your DAW that your mouse is currently hovering over. This works perfectly in Logic Pro.

The only downside is it doesn't have a second set of outputs to connect another set of monitors to, but to be honest, thats what the built the ID22 for so I can't complain really!

The accompaning software that comes with the interface is a doddle to install and use...and 'just works'. if I'm honest, I hardly look at it now as I've set up my id14 and use input 2 for my microphone (its a condenser that requires phantom power) and use the DI for my guitar on input 1

I think the software must remember your settings as I adjust input gain on the interface when I'm tracking, and now don't even look at the software!

Over all a brilliant interface that works really well.

Very highly recommended, get it and you won't be disappointed
