Best tom mic on the market
UsedForGlue 13.02.2018
I?ll break this down to very simple points.

1. Cheapest priced for the best quality Mic in its price bracket.
2. Doesn?t require a mic stand, clips to any rim, and has all the neck movement you need. Most clip Mics won?t let you move it left or right from centre of the drum.
3. Low profiling. Great for squeezing into tight spaces between Toms and cymbals. It?s also black, so it doesn?t detract from your kit, no matter what colour.
4. Unlike most Mics in its price range, it is very road worthy, not just studio ready,so you don?t have to be precious about taking it out live, it also comes with a soft case.
5. Industry standard mic. You won?t need to upgrade any time soon after purchasing.

If you want one mic for both live and studio, then this is the mic you need for your percussion, Toms and snare bottom.

S
AMAZING !
Stephane4242 03.06.2019
I was looking for a small but mighty microphone for my snare. Something that is discreet, unobtrusive, not bulky with an awkward fat clamp and reliable, that would render my snare accurately. Oh Boy ! what a magical piece of hardware that is ! The Beyerdynamic TG D58 ticks ALL the boxes. It is truly small, nicely fits at the top of the snare, just under the tom tom. Not in my way at all, it catches full hits, rimshots, side sticks perfectly ! The clamp is also amazing and attaches so easily on the rim of the hoop with the clam. the fact that the XLR is built in the clamp makes it a joy... I would probably buy 3 more for the toms when finance becomes available to me...but I would not hesitate to buy them. Go go go... it's an amazing product

VH
Great

A perfect mic for tight places - small, discreet, sturdy, perfect clamp for the rim... and the price is unbeatable. For those of you who use an 8" tom - this is the mic guys! I'm not sure how good for studio work it might be because it pics a lot of bleed from the cymbals. And I know some prefer to isolate every part of the drumset as possible. But in my case that's a positiv thing because in a live setting (small bars) I use less mics as possible (mostly no overheads) so that mic slightly opens the sound spectrum in the upper register, makes it a bit airy the way only condenser mic does it. So bye bye overheads ;)

N
Top German quality + Super on toms!
Novusuhu 28.07.2020
Pro's:
- Made in Germany: very good quality (strong material).
- The clip is easy to attach and remove on drums.
- Elastic neck-end: you can hit it with a drum stick and the mic will still be in place. The end of the neck absorbs the 'shock'.
- Sounds super on tom's: very natural and clear (toms must be tuned good though). They are 'unforgiving' on a badly tuned drum kit.

Cons:
- Somewhat 'limited' in mic positioning (but not real problem when used on toms and floor toms)
- They have some bleed, because of the cardioid patern and because they are condenser mics.
