Flats from daddario 45-100
charles the bassist 27.10.2020
These are good flatwounds.

On the musicman stingray:

First the G string slipped from the tuning peg on first installation, which I managed to recover...
Sound is good and deep, retains some higher mids which is nice as apposed to Labella. Tension however is high, nothing surprising with flats but be mindful.
Neck relief reset might be necessary. Though not as high as rotosounds flats.
They have a matt grey look which isn't as cool as Labella, Thomastik,... Which are shinier.
After 3 months, the E string core slipped, causing the E string to buzz and loose sustain and fundamental note.

On my Ibanez SR 5 string, with Nordstrand pickups:

The blue silk winding at the ball end is a bit long and went over the saddle, so had to remove part of it.

Sound is really really good with this bass though.

As it's a hot, bright punchy bass, these flats just work nicely with it...

OVERALL: Good strings that don't have tons of character, so they work well with a very punchy bass, to tame it maybe...

New favourite bass strings
Andy Fereday 01.02.2022
These are great strings. I don't know what it is about them - they have a very gentle metallic twang and give you lots of lovely overtones and harmonics. They're also very easy on your fingertips and just feel lighter than regular roundwounds of the same gauge. They have the added benefit that they are much more resistant to tarnishing the nickel steels. I seem to be able to tarnish guitar strings in a couple of hours (less so bass strings) but these stay really nice and clean. They're also very easy to re-polish with a little stainless steel cleaner.

KJ
E and A String Threading Too Long For My Harley Benton
Ken J. 21.12.2021
I normally use and really like these strings. I have them two other basses. However, when I bought them for my Harley Benton Enhanced MP-4MN Natural Pro Series, the threading on the E and A strings was too long. So long it ended up in the nut of my bass causing some serious string buzz. This wasn't just the case for one pack either. Please be cautious before purchasing these.

Thankfully, the good folks at Thomann are going to look into it with their techs. They have been nothing but excellent about this. They remain my go to folks for musical equipment needs.

Great Flatwounds
Silverwake 07.04.2017
I've been repurchasing D'Addario flatwounds for the past 8 years. I love the warm sound they produce and they are extremely durable.
They're also not the most expensive in the market.
D'Addario's customer service is also excellent. I once purchased a set of these strings, but the G string seemed to be dead (it sounded extremly dull compared to the other 3). I sent an email to their customer care department and they sent me a new set free of charge.
Overall, very good product and brand.
