Great guitar for a great price

First, the price is typical for that level of instrument.

Second, 12 strings excel at open "cowboy chords". I play them almost exclusively, but you have to understand what music I'm into before you judge what's right for you.

12 strings take most 6 string techniques out of the mix. "Tapping", string bending, constantly playing material using barre chords is pretty much out of the question.

My own musical interests run toi the music of the 60's & 70's, when 12 strings had their heyday. The Stones, Byrds, The Beatles, and even the Who (*) relied on them heavily. Also the Strawbs, whom you may, or not be familiar with.

Some key points: 12 Strings should be tuned to D-d, and not concert pitch E-e. This makes for easier fretting, and prolongs the live of the instrument. To play at standard tuning, a capo on the 2nd fret, and a thorough retuning is required.

12 strings load up fast and distort with aggressive picking. Any strumming should be done with picks about .5 mm, or even less. Arpeggiating open chords works very well, and also reduces the issue.

Overall it has a great sound it delivers a bright strong tone ,the guitar has a top-heavy neck and a nice steardy body

The preamp has also a nice sound but dont expect like premium sound out of it

It comes with strings a 9v batt and an allen key

The only reason i gave it 4 star on quality is that it has somewhat cheap pins for the strings and cheap (somekind of plastic )saddle both top and bottom

P
Unexpectedly good!
Padicus 07.09.2020
I got this to replace a dying Fender acoustic because I couldn't afford a higher end one, but I am very pleasantly surprised with it. It actually feels like an upgrade from my old DG16.

It is extremely comfortable. The neck doesn't feel wide. The finish is perfectly homogeneous and I love the matte.

And most importantly, it sounds great in the room and recorded by DI and microphone.

Would definitely consider buying more D'Angelico guitars in the future.

JB
Gorgeous guitar
Jeff Bee 29.06.2020
I have been searching for an easy everyday 12 string for ages, just to noodle around at home. I actually thought the price of this guitar was a misprint when I first saw it advertised. A D’Angelico at the price seemed too good to be true so was unsure what to expect. I was willing to take a chance as I’ve used Thomann before and never been disappointed. The ordering process is always easy and delivery as efficient as ever. The guitar is an absolute joy, plays straight out of the box, a lovely silky neck and clean action (for a 12 string), access well up into the top frets and a lovely classic sound. Haven’t used it via an amp yet but I’m totally bowled over by the guitar

o
good guitar,decent price
ondi 14.03.2022
as said its a good guitar for decent price and build quality is very good, sounds awesome, holds tune and has build in tuner which is a plus, rest is in fingers:)
Only minor negative thing i can say about the guitar is that tuner display is hard to see from certain angle, which doe not bother me too much,
apart from that i am very happy with the purchase and would recommend the guitar for people who are looking to get into 12 string guitars .
