Great strings

Good value, journeyman roundwound strings for bass. These have a nice tone and last a long time for a fair price.

These are steel strings as opposed to nickel wound so I guess this has something to do with the lasting tone and good longevity.

Also, I believe these strings are cryogenically frozen (!?!?) to -300 or thereabouts which apparently causes the string/metal to contract and squash out the spaces that would normally be between the winding of standard strings. This is supposed to be better for tone and promotes less transients and odd, unwanted sounds from the strings. Apparently.

I'm not 100% sure on this technique but they do seem to sound really good so I'd suggest Mr Markley's scientists know more than I do about the subject.

Would recommend for bass players of all levels and styles.

Quickly took them off

I did not like these strings at all. I bought a cort B4 bass and decided to change the strings (D'Addario's were fitted). I put these strings on and found the bass became far too twangy, with no deep bass frequency coming through the amplification at all. The guitar sounded awful. I gave them a week or so to settle down, but they never did. I took them off and put back on the aged D'addario's. The bass guitar then sounded good again. I'm looking for a good set of strings, maybe will try Rotosound next.

Very affordable quality

Been using DM strings for a while, decided to give a shot for nickel - and I was pleasantly surprised. They do not sound as bright as stainless steel, but gives increased bass and mid tones - sound feels deeper and fuller, which is something you want from bass. Also pressing strings feels somewhat nicer and softer.
