Dimarzio Air Norton S

I installed this in the neck of my Charvel ST Custom (Strat style - Ash body, Maple neck, Rosewood fretboard, 2 point non locking trem). I wanted something a little more powerful to replace the stock stacked single coil and also a pickup that could keep up with the Dimarzio Crunch Lab I have in the bridge of the guitar.

It really is a great partner for a high output pickup like the crunch lab - it means you can go from a high gain bridge rhythm sound to a smoother neck solo sound. It has a medium level output and quite a mid focused character that helps solos to stand out more, but also gives clean sounds a lot of depth. My favourite sound is clean with lots of analogue delay and a little chorus - it makes clean sounds very wide and deep.

Don't expect a screaming gain monster with this pickup, but if you want a very versatile, slightly more vintage sound, this is a great pickup to try.

Really Nice Pickup - neck Position
Straylight02 22.07.2019
I have this in the neck position of a rather old (30+ years) Washburn G8V superstrat. It (and its colleagues) brought the guitar back to life. I have it either between full humbucking or nsplit coil. Both voices are nice, but I particularly like the warm and articulate neck tone. A breeze to fit also.

Great pickup!
BiggiB 11.08.2022
Wanted to change the bridge pickup on my strat. I went for this DiMarzio Air Norton and was not let down. The sound to me is a fat singlecoil rather than something like a humbucker, but for me that was perfect. I do not have to much experience with changing pickups but the process was quite easy and compared to the pickup I had, this is miles ahead!

Warm and extremely fat sound.
Used in the neck position on a Jackson DK-2 (alder body, maple/rosewood neck)
