Solid, excellent quality stand

I needed a new cymbal stand and although I have some existing 9000 series stands, thought I would try out one of the 5000 series from DW as an alternative.
Frankly, for the vast majority of us who aren't on world tours or gigging every night, this stand is perfect. Typical good DW build quality. Very stable and solid. Heavyweight construction and materials, but not as heavy as the 9000 stands. The chrome has a beautiful deep shine.
Comes with three memory locks (one for each tube, one for the boom) and DW's excellent adjustable cymbal seat and felts.
Finally, the boom can be stored in the main tube, either for transport, or to use the stand as a straight stand.
Overall, very happy with this purchase, and I'm sure it is sturdy and well-built enough to last for years and years of hard use.

I've used all of DW's numerous ranges of hardware over the years. Personally I feel that the 5000 series delivers just about everything a professional or serious semi professional drummer requires. Not as heavy as the 9000 but is seriously well built enough to carry a tom holder and a 14" tom with no stability issues.

I sold all my 9000 series stands a while back and now only use these with both my Gretsch USA Custom and DW Collectors kits. 10 out of 10 DW, fabulously designed boom stand.

I think these cymbal stand are the end of the old 5000 series because the new 5000 series does not have a Teck Lock system. Excellent quality, many adjustments... a product to buy
