Sorry for the bad english!

My first Ochestral liberie for composing and producing.
I Wished I would have spend my money on a more modern liberie that had more of an "out of the box playability".

If you like to tweak things for hours, than this libarie is for you!
There are better libraries for similar price.

Pros: It's an all in one liberie with all orchestral instruments in one VST.

Cons: The Woodwinds dosen't sound very good at all.

I wished I would have bought Project Sam Orchestral Essentials instead, it would have given me more inspiration on the fly so i can create music faster!

I have several orchestral sound libraries (I'm an orchestrator). East & West Gold has many qualities, which make me use it regularly.

Let's make the point, starting with the quality of sounds ... and this is the highlight of the collection. The samples are really excellent, with an ambient sound taking which makes it very realistic, very easily, unlike other collections based on samples taken with microphones proximity. The release samples are superb and make the use of reberberation virtually useless.

Attention however, it is rather focused "big sound Hollywood" than "light and subtle shades". Wait for brass and explosive bass strings, with the possibility of making very aggressive sounds (Bartok Pizz, staccatissimo, etc ...) ... but no "real" legato (where the transition between each note Would itself be a sample, as in other competing collections).

From the point of view of the bank engine, the "Play Engine", I'm not very convinced. Cubase is the only one to be able to use a lot of hard drives, but I do not know how to do it. I do not meet with other collections.

In addition, the crossfade mode, ie the ability to crossfade from one sample to another during a long held note, using the modulation wheel as a controller, is not standard - It is necessary to load each additional sound each time. So that to make a violin track, for example, one is sometimes obliged to create several tracks: 1 violin staccato, 1 violin held, 1 violin crossfade. Well, it's not unacceptable, but it could be better.

Last remark: it is one of the rare collections to have a bank "violins 1" AND a bank "violins 2" ... often one is entitled only to a bank "violins" and one uses twice the program and The pan to simulate violins 1 and 2. It is still better to have really both sections.
