Arban - Billaudot edition

This is an updated version of the Arban trumpet method, with Maurice Andre among the editors. It follows a different method, replacing some of the original exercises (which would have been in Arban Book 1) with new ones and leaving out a great many of the originals. I bought this book because my copy of Arban, in three parts,is falling apart. While I seemed like a good idea to have all three in one, it turned out to be a mistake. The book is heavy, and won't stay open on the stand, making practice quite difficult. The new approach, based on different keys and including a few short exercises in each key as well as tonguing exercises, is useful though. But I would recommend going for the original, in three (more manageable) parts).

Ich habe die Billaudot Editeur Arban Grande Methode Trumpet auf Empfehlung neues Trompetenlehrers bestellt. Nach dem ersten Durchblättern bin ich begeistert. Wenn ich die Standard Arbanschule mit dieser vergleiche sind die Übungen viel abwechslungsreicher, besonders die Charakteretüden sind toll. Ich bin seit diesem Jahr Rentner und Amateur, beginne aber jetzt noch mal das Trompete spielen nach ein paar Jahren Pause.
