Finally EHX have come to their senses
White Ship Caused the Anarchy 19.12.2017
I have been waiting for this for years.

Muff copies and originals have been going for 200 Euros online for ages now, and finally EHX have reissued this killer pedal for a sensible price !

Fuzz pedals are amongst the simplest of circuits and the price inflation as a result of EHX not being in the market was getting ridiculous.

This pedal is great, easy to use, records like a dream, sounds better than my Tiny Terror HW tube distortion and is nothing. NOTHING, like that current NYC Big Muff. It is more subtle, usable and articulate by a milliooooon miles

Most important for me was how this pedal pronounced all of the strings, even when playing and open chord, This was not the case for the NYC version, that has all of its bass frequencies completely overpower anything that is played on the first three strings.

Another thing was the natrual sustain of this pedal, which was the complete opposite to the NYC pedal's almosted gated sustain.

This pedal is a big suprise to me and the price will blow the Hoof, the Musket Fuzz, and all the rest of the boutique manufacturers with their overpriced fuzz boxes out of the water. Thank you EHX, welcome back!

The Green Russian Big Muff is a Fantastic Bassy Fuzz Pedal
penuvapo 02.02.2020
Ever since I started looking up fuzzes to add to my pedalboard, the big muff became a primary choice in that matter. After watching several videos and reading reviews online on the various bif muff reissues, I knew the green russian had to be my final choice.

The green russian is more bassy than the other big muff reissues - which fits nicely in my setup. It carries a lot of sustain, perfect for gilmourish lead sounds. Moreover, it is very easy to dial the tone and fuzz you want as it only has three knobs - if you dial just a notch on the sustain knob, you can get a more overdriven sound, but as you start to get the knob closer to the 9/10 o'clock mark, the fuzz sounds are quite notorious.

It is built nicely and its size is very adequate to fit every pedalboard. Personally, I pair the green russian with a tubescreamer and the sounds I get from those two pedals are fantastic. Definitely recommend the green russian big muff fuzz if you are a fan of the big muff sound and if you're looking for a fuzz with bassier tones.

Perfect
makkker 06.01.2020
I tried and used two other Muffs earlier and liked booth. However, the russian compared to a big muff pi sounds really more natural, musical and has more middle frequencies if I hear it right. It really-really plays huge with my 60's sounding strat and stands out in the mix for rythm playing better then the regular pi. Its creamy, psychedelic, not as metallic. The best fuzz I've used for now.
