Fun pedal with almost too much built in!
24.08.2016
For every guitar player reading: congrats, you're the weirdo who wants a Ring Modulator. It's loads of fun, somewhat complicated and often very annoying for your peers.

I've owned this since Christmas, am a serious pedal geek, and am sometimes utterly lost in what I'm doing on this thing. It's loads of fun and you could easily base half your FX off it (Vibrato, Chorus, Trem, Pitch Shifting, Ring Mod) and just run an OD..but I doubt anyone buying this will. It's a real geek's pedal, and as such it's very eccentric.

Trem and Vib effects sound great, really lush. The Ring Mod is versatile and the tuning thing is amazing, being able to change it on the fly is a lot of fun jamming! The pitch shifter algo is good, and the formant shifting keeps it sounding reasonably realistic.

Downside? For a recording band or gigging band, the controls are a bit of a pain too. It's very easy to knock the controls or otherwise end up on the incorrect preset, which can result in awful results. Make sure your feet are sufficiently fancy. I do wish it had a manual mode switch or something equally as unlikely to be hit by my foot and cause mishaps.

I think in a studio it's great for ideas. You can do all sorts of cool stuff that will often be useless but inspiring, and some genuinely useful stuff (Organ impersonations, trem, vibrato..Devo style guitar solos) but at the end of the day it's a pedal for those interested in unique sounds. I spent years debating getting this. If you want it, get it. It's always fun. Just don't expect your band to be all "Hey, turn on your Ring Mod again! Set the frequency really high".

You will, though.

Minibrute booster
Godric, 21.07.2015
I originally purchased this specifically to supply a "second oscillator" for the Minibrute. I have ended up using it for all sorts of other purposes. The sound is excellent. The user interface is not hugely intuitive and it takes a while to figure out what the available controls do in the various presets.

The presets themselves broadly outline the various jobs this box can do and serve as an excellent starting point for one's own purposes.

The casing is rugged and well-built to withstand the clumsy feet of guitarists. As I am graceful keyboard player and operate it with my hands I am certain it will survive for years if not decades.

This thing is a beast of a pedal
21.03.2016
Best pedal I've ever bout just for the laugh you can have with the sounds you can get out of it. Tremolo, uni vibe kinda sound, detune, octave up or down, chorus effect and obvs ring mod. Only used it live a few times cause the most fun I've had with it is hooking it up to a delay pedal and big muff so you get a low constant hum going into it and just making noise. Never come across a pedal that you can get so many sound sounds and control in real time and you can disappeared into soundscapes. Built like a tank as well. Also being able to tune the ring mod to guitar pitch gets another set of cool sounds. And I still haven't hooked up the expression pedal so there is another level of stuff you can control I've never even used. Only downside is the power supply that comes with it sucks and unless you carry that around in a glass case you'll be buying a new one fairly soon. Pedal board would sort that problem out but it runs at fairly high ma so would need to check that first. Think iWould deof buy another one if anything ever happened to it. If your looking for a traditional pedal it maybe not for you. Actually stay well away. If your looking for soulbending mindaltering sounds go forth and purchase as a gift of sonic madness to yourself:)

Great sound and versatility
30.05.2016
This is a great pedal ring modulator. With many futures and nice sound. Can warm up the sound and make it also richer with harmonics and of course has a lot of ring modulators effects.
