OMG top quality

What a surprise! Absolutely love this guitar. Pickups and hardware comes from gibbo so I was expecting that this will be good but the guitar in itself is superb! I own about 10 guitars from Harley Benton (500) to Mayones (3K). I wasn't expecting that I will fall in love in the neck but hey it superb. I normally prefer slim/shred etc and this supposed to be fat enough but it doesn't feel like that. Its so playable. I am soo impressed by this Epiphone it beyond words. The guitar came setup really well as well . Its actually funny but its the best setup I got right from the box (I imagine I was lucky enough). Action is super low right from the box. I am very glad that I didn't buy Gibson standard (2300) as I wanted to gamble on this one first. It is very close. Frets looks good. Will polish them to bring it to another level. Tuners seems to be ok, feel premium and tuning stability is there. Fret board needs to be oiled as it was super dry. Other than that absolutely amazing guitar. BTW top look great as well (like on the picture). I've had 1960 Epiphone Tribute (top tier) few years back and this guitar is smiles ahead.

Superb Guitar / Awful Tuners
Lazzarotto 15.11.2022
Sad to give this guitar a 3 stars. Because believe me this is a pretty great guitar. Amazing neck, sustain, the laurel fretboard is pretty good too. The pups you know how they sound.
Unfortunatelly, I think I'm in a bad luck with this 59 series when we're talking about the tuners. The first one I got from Thomann all the 3 tuners on treble strings were poping and cracking pretty loud, it was clear that something inside wasn't working right.
So I did what Thomann said to me. Recorded a video showing the issue. Soon as possible they sent me all the papers to send the guitar back.. so I did.
Last week the new one came home. Amazing guitar even better than the first one. Better paintjob, better sustain! Good Lord I was so happy.. until today. The day I did the first restring.
To my surprise I've discovered that the tuning machine on the low E and on the B string have the same problem as those on the guitar I send back. But this time I'll just eat this issue because I don't want to deal with sending the guitar again. The guitar stays in tune pretty well.. but I know someday this machine will break on me. And it's a pain to hear this f crack when you change the strings.. it's in a particular position that isn't always accessible just in daily retuning. You gotta do bigger spins on the machine.

So as I said its sad to give this guitar such a "bad" rating because I really loved what Epiphone did everywhere else apart from the tuning machines. Probably I'm just with bad luck on that because I didn't heard about it online. This is a pretty good les paul, especially with those PAFs.. But keep in mind that you may also have problems like this. After all.. It's a good guitar from a poorly inspected manufacturer.

As great as I expected
Brettox 15.03.2022
The LP 1959 standard is as great as I was expecting. The burst buckers are screaming, phenomenal tone!! I read other people didn't like the feel of the finish but I quite like it. The actions was a little high and the fret board was dry as I expected but a little fret board oil and it was sorted in no time. The fret ends are a little sharp, but the neck feels great. This guitar feels like the real deal, fantastic value over all. I can't wait to get it on stage and hear how it sounds blasting loud!

t
bad fretwork
tedp 02.02.2021
The copy I received had uneven 7th fret under G string which caused a lot of buzzing when lowering the action and also uneven higher frets on the treble side. I sent it back for service and said exactly what my problem was. Got it back today and there was no service done on the frets, just a setup to the factory string action. Sent an email again hoping for the best.
In general if you receive a good copy I think the guitar is worth it considering what you are buying with that money.
