Busking with the DR-100
Andrew4614 21.04.2015
I received this guitar this morning and put it straight to work busking. I was immideiately taken by the great finish this Guitar has, also the fingerboard is great, the action straight out of the box was perfect, no buzzes anywhere. I probably played it for about 3 hours today, and the tuning was great, projection excellent and it is very easily playable. The fact it starts off with D'addario strings is a definate plus. For a budget guitar I am very impressed, I play fingerstyle entirely and the guitar really sings. Also a word for the Thomann service, quick delivery and brilliantly protected with their double packaging.

May 13th. I have now busked with this guitar for some 6 weeks. It still amazes me how Epiphone can can make a guitar of this quality for such a low price. Because I use it every day it is coming to the time to change strings, I will report again after this as I will be fitting slightly lighter gauge strings than came as stock.

June 03. new string fitted with no need to adjust the truss rod at all. I get loads of guitarists stop while I'm busking and ask how much I had to pay for such a 'great sounding' acoustic. The reaction is usuall one of disbelief.

GH
Epiphone DR-100
George Hend 17.06.2020
I hadn't played a guitar for almost 30 years, lockdown spiked my interest again, but limited my buying options to online. Thankfully I found Thomann, then to find a guitar. I limited my budget, for fear, the interest would wane, or my choice wouldn't measure up. I had no worries on the latter, DR-100, isvery well made for the price ,a laminate guitar with a very good sound. Ideal for beginners or those who can play & need a 2nd instrument. Also a good choice for 50 somethings chasing dreams of their youth while locked down.I'm very happy with the instrument, it deserves the glowing reviews it's received over the years, & Thomann is the best online shopping experience bar none, keep up the good work

For the money its very good.
Anonymous 07.09.2016
I snapped the high e string when i first got the guitar so went with martin medium strings to help strengthen my fingers as a starter to guitar playing, it was a good move as now i have light strings fitted i can notice how easy barre chrords are now. Its obviously built on a budget if you look closely the neck isnt sanded evenly and the paint lines are slightly wonky up the neck but saying that the laminate still looks good after a year, the guitar plays well if a little boomy with quite a lot of reverb release from the strings. For a learner guitar playing open and barre chords its perfect and always stays in tune after the strings are settled in but i found myself wanting to plug into an amp after 6 months of playing I i ended up fitting an aftermarket pick up) and using the upper frets is awkward without a cutaway on the body. That said i would have this guitar again if i had to make the noob decision and im sure it will last me another year of playing before i decide to upgrade, also the resale value on even the cheap epeiphone guitars is quite good so you should get a good return if you decide to give up or upgrade :)

CL
Great guitar for beginners and not only...
Chris Lynch 26.09.2016
Epiphone DR-100 is an acoustic guitar entry level with great wood choices and many acoustic capabilities.
Advantages are,
Resonance on this guitar is reasonably good for the price, you can feel the woods on the tone of your playing really good, and the neck feels expensive.
Disadvantages are,
The guitar setup from the factory was really bad, had to spent some hours making adjustments, the strings height was way big and I could like if there was a piezo magnet there even with a price increase.

Overall amazing guitar for the price Im really happy about my purchase.
