So I bought this because I wanted a guitar I love, to motivate me to play.
It was my main guitar, so I picked the modern variant so I have split coil for a wider option of genres.
That said, a few months on, and it's parked on the bridge humbucker.

The tuners hold way longer than my previous guitar, I'm quite pleased with them, I had some fret buzz out of the box when playing cowboy chords, and a pot's wiring and hat that came loose, but after a luthier set it up that was all gone.
The feel of the guitar is solid and I love the way it keeps singing a note, long after it's been played, with the body aginst yours, it helped me bond with the guitar. A sort of negative for a beginner specifically is that it won't shut up and you have to learn how to mute or it can become messy quite quickly.

Think about buying glossy. I'm still scared for scratches and made one by wearing the wrong trousers to play. Fingerprints I don't care much for but I was scared to touch it in the beginning.

I have sweaty hands and the neck doesnt relly get sticky, but it does get grimy after a while, which is true for any guitar probably, just more noticable on the glossy black neck. I like the neck most when playing scales, nice and smooth, really works with me. And I can play chords better with less wrist bending (had to lift for F chord previously)

If this would be your first Les Paul style guitar, the body is heavy (even this lighter one), and sits weird on your leg (I play sitting 95% of the time) it's lot like a tele, it sits a bit off to the right, not quite where u want it, and it seems to be body heavy a tiny bit, where I was scared of letting go of the neck, which hindered my playing.
I started playing with a neck strap and got used to that, and now I'm even playing without one from time to time to see if it's better, and it is. So it's about getting used to it.

That's about all I can comment on for my skill level, I wish it was set up a bit better out of the box, I hope I just had a bad example, but nothing my luthier couldn't easily fix

Disappointed with the equipment of the Epiphone Les Paul Studio guitar!!! Firstly, there are no keys to adjust the neck in the town with the guitar, and secondly, the pegs on my Wilkinson guitar, and Grover Rotomatic are specified according to the specification!!! Also, my guitar is out of tune! string height, neck deflection and scale are not tuned at all! very unhappy that thomann sent just such a guitar
