High-quality two-way studio monitor

The EVE Audio SC207 is a compact, active two-way studio monitor and the second largest model of its kind in the SilverCone series. Thanks to the combination of the advanced AMT-RS2 tweeter and 6.5" SilverCone woofer, it achieves precise audio reproduction over the stated frequency range between 44 Hz and 21 kHz. The tweeter and SilverCone woofer are powered by two powerful Class D amplifiers, rated at 50 W and 100 W respectively. An internal, high-resolution DSP also provides filters that allow precise adjustment to the monitoring environment. The SC207 studio monitor receives its signals via either an RCA or XLR connection.

Smart knob and DSP

The internal DSP electronics include a high-quality Burr-Brown AD converter with 24 Bit/192 kHz, which converts analogue input signals via RCA and XLR into digital signals and sends them unaltered to the DSP for further processing. Levelling of the system volume as well as the adjustment of filters for room variables are made via the front smart knob, while the LED ring displays the selected settings. The brightness of the LEDs can be dimmed for dark lighting conditions. The DIP switches on the back of the housing are also worthy of special mention, as they can be used to secure volume and filter settings against unintentional adjustment.

Optimum price-performance ratio

Thanks to high-quality components, the compact EVE Audio SC207 achieves incredible sound quality on a par with larger models. The SC207 is characterised by high transparency and a bass response that is extremely precise relative to its size, starting at 44 Hz. This makes it the perfect monitor speaker for situations in which larger speaker systems cannot be used due to lack of space, or where smaller monitors are needed for comparative listening. Experienced home studio owners as well as professional sound and post-production studios get a high-quality monitor at a fair price with the SC207.

About EVE Audio

The German company EVE Audio is based in Berlin and was founded in 2011. It dedicates itself to the production of professional studio monitors in various versions, which deliver detailed sound not only to sound engineers but also to consumers. The company offers monitors for every application in a wide variety of rooms and for every budget. Thanks to the enhanced technology of the Air Motion Transformer, all of the company's speakers are characterised by minimal sound discolouration, precise tweeter adjustment, and improved distortion behaviour. The SC3010 and SC3012 monitors were introduced in March 2014, followed in April 2015 by the SC203 desktop speaker and the PMR 2.10 passive monitor router. Today, EVE Audio products are sold in more than 60 countries.

For stereo and multi-channel use

The SC207 from EVE Audio can be used for various nearfield setups. For example, the two-way speaker when used as a pair serves as an excellent main monitor in small production rooms. For this purpose, it is recommended that it be combined with a subwoofer from the ThunderStorm series, which supports the SC207 speakers in the low end for an even wider frequency range. The SC207 also makes a good B monitor, and can be used in multi-channel systems, whether as a centre, rear, or front speaker. This makes EVE Audio's SC207 a versatile monitoring tool for music and multimedia applications.

In the spotlight: SilverCone

EVE Audio uses a honeycomb-structured sandwich diaphragm for the SilverCone woofers of its SC models, which thanks to glass fibre coating offers an optimum balance between material rigidity and the production of resonances for precise playback. A copper-cap magnet system further reduces potential distortion. The result is a low distortion factor and increased transparency. Depending on the monitor model, the diaphragm is also driven by a 1" or 1.5" voice coil, which enables dynamic bass reproduction through a high, linear excursion.

Well-balanced processed sound at a great price!
esoterra23 28.09.2018
I'm a hobbyist songwriter and recording enthusiast, and I purchased the Eve Audio SC207 monitors for use in my small project studio. I purchased one that was open box and one brand new. I can't tell which is which, so buy open box if available. I haven't compared them side-by-side to the Adam A7X speakers, but I don't think the treble sounds as hyped as I recall the A7X's sounding. Because of the DSP, these speakers sound a little "processed" with a slight digital character, but I think the DSP makes them sound well-balanced. To me, the A7X's treble sounded a little sweet, like a modern day NS-10M. Eve Audio's integrated DSP offers precision control of high and low EQ curves, as well as a "desk" curve to adjust for desk surface reflection. When comparing Eve Audio's speakers to Adam or HEDD brands, who use similar ribbon tweeters, I noticed that neither of Eve's competitors published their frequency response chart. I would suspect that the DSP helps to make the Eve Audio speakers more accurate, at least on paper. I've paired my speakers with Sonarworks Reference 4 in order to compensate for the inadequacies of my small treated room. As a result, I think my studio sounds pretty decent. In fact, I feel confident that no other speaker in this price range would sound better. When I purchased my SC207's in August (2018), Thomann shipped them to my home in Florida, USA... and the shipping was a flat $35 with no other import or customs fees. That's cheaper than I could get them shipped from within the US! The total price was amazing and my experience was on par with that of any US online retailer. I'm now a new fan of Thomann and Eve Audio.

Jf
Superb studio monitoring solution
Jay from the U.S. 06.02.2020
For comparison, I have primarily used Event and Equator Audio studio monitors in the past. Both of those have been excellent (and have translated fairly well); however, the Eve SC207 pair is a significant improvement and well worth the expense.

These are being used as the near-field monitors in the studio's mixing space, and they are paired with an Eve subwoofer to extend the frequency range of the system a bit. Fit and finish are outstanding. The manual is a bit difficult to understand in parts (probably only with regard to the English translation, however) - that said, I had no issues setting everything up and dialing the monitors in. They were well matched in output (within 1db), and they display a remarkable ability to represent the stereo field quite faithfully. Mixes done on them translate quite well (although I would always recommend a secondary mono setup with a "less than flat" speaker as a phase/radio check!).

I strongly recommend the Eve's - they are well worth their very reasonable cost. Thomann was great as a dealer (and I'm in the U.S.) - everything went very smoothly.

A
First EVE product for me, definitely not last!
Anonymous 30.01.2017
For 2 years I google and talk to people and all sorts of advice was handed to me and eventualy unabled me to buy any speakers at all. I decided to blindly buy SC207 just because it is "something different" as in not adam dynaudio or focal. AX7, Alpha 65 and SC207 are to me similar sounding speakers, but eventualy find their differences in Genres. In my opinion, SC207 are more versatile since it can reach low Hz in low volumes which enables me to work for long time. I can hear everything very clearly and are very loud if you want them to be.
My take - dont worry too much, just buy a set of speakers that will get you working, each monitor takes getting used to and working on them makes you adapt better to them and your room. Just start working and leave this techincal thing aside, choose 1 you cant go wrong! especialy with thomann and their return policys with excelent customer feedback!

Huge respect for the boys in Berlin with their SC 207.
Cheers all!

Pleasure for the ears.
Shinai 09.04.2020
Upgraded from simple 5" Samson A5s.
Oh man, what a difference. Really wish I mixed my album on these.

Very clear sound, they're very similar to Adam A7x's but with a little less harsh trebles. They're a little more balanced, natural and soft. Still pristine highs and solid lows.
