Absolutely Devine Beauty & Sound... after 1 upgrade

Unboxed her and i was stunned, color is darker than on picture, but is very beautifull and the weight lets you feel this is quality wood, body & neck. Read a lot of reviews & vids on You Tube about some upgrades for the Floyd Special, but they took it a little bit to far for my taste. But that is the only thing you should do something about. Basically for this price you get a superb body & neck wood & finnish & 2 Wolfgang PU's. Ok, the tuners are cheap, but they only act to tune before locking, and they are sufficient for that. The tuners are set in, so you can't turn them around when loosening them. I recommend to do nothing about the tuners & locking nut, cause normally the nut is an orriginal R2, so it felt when locking with the allen key. But,1 star less at features for the Floyd Special. I didn't want to go down 'The Rabbit Hole' doing all those upgrades & going to the luthier to do them proper, so i'm gonna go for a Schaller Lockingmaster 6 (199 eu ) easy to install yourself, with 37mm brass block ( 17,40 eu), so for 216,40 eu...Problem Solved On a Budget!! For a total of 753,40eu you have a Mean Sounding EVH RockMachine...a Sportscar with stunning looks. The PU's sound very good, to my taste. Last but not least...the reviews complain about the neck being loose, the Floyd is floating, the action is high and so on...indeed i spent some time to fasten all the screws, lower the bridge, fasten the trussnut etc...but then everything fell into place with 1,5 mm action...and the guitar came to life...damn, i was realy surprised in a very good way. I think at the factory they tune it like it should sound and then loosen the neck, bridge etc for transport, so hence the little bit of work to set it up right outta the box...cause once that's done she sounds absolutely devine. Keeping this setup i will change the Floyd to Lockmeister, just swap it, intonate it & voila...divebombing is a problem for the Special...but that's the only downside with the guitar, wich is no problem if you just put a good tremolo on it. I got 11 expensive guitars, but this one is now NR 1 & on a budget.
