In the purest tradition

For all those who associate Fender with electric guitars: Yes, Fender also manufactures acoustic guitars. And it's not a recent development either. Dating back to the 1960s, the American brand has been creating unique and exciting instruments. The CD-60 NA V3 aligns itself with this tradition and another one: Since the early 1980s, Fender has been committed to creating quality instruments that are both suitable and affordable for beginners. The CD-60 NA V3 is a dreadnought-style acoustic guitar with a transparent lacquer finish - and while its looks will certainly grab attention, its quality is evident, and its price is sensational.

Sturdy and affordable

The CD-60 NA V3 is undeniably a dreadnought, however, it has softer and rounder contours that set it apart from what most other manufacturers offer. Constructed entirely from laminated wood, it features a mahogany back and sides along with a spruce top. The neck is also mahogany, and the fingerboard and bridge are made of walnut, an obvious alternative to protected rosewood. Another noteworthy feature is the neck size, which at 25.3" (643mm) is slightly shorter than usual, noticeably improving playability.

A forgiving guitar

The CD-60 NA V3 is especially aimed at beginners or anyone wishing to start playing the guitar again. First and foremost, it catches the eye with both its appealing looks and its incredibly low price tag for an instrument of this quality - which appears to belong in a much higher price category. Furthermore, the reduced neck size will suit less experienced guitarists or those accustomed to more easy-to-handle electric guitars. The sound of the laminated wooden body is comparable to that of a solid wood guitar, and the distinctions reside more in dynamic management, a characteristic that makes the CD-60 more forgiving towards the odd wrong note.

About Fender

Fender is without doubt one of the most legendary guitar and amplifier manufacturers of all time. The company was founded in 1946 by its namesake Leo Fender († 1991), whose innovative ideas brought a breath of fresh air into the musical world. His Telecaster, Stratocaster, Precision Bass, and Jazz Bass are not only classics – they also continue to shape the styles of musicians in countless genres to this day. Timeless Fender amplifier models such as the Bassman, Twin, Deluxe, and Princeton also enjoy a stellar reputation. Besides maintaining its classic product portfolio, however, the company is also constantly developing new products that make Fender a driving force in today’s music industry.

An excellent backup instrument

For many aspiring Pop and Rock musicians, nylon-string guitars may seem the very epitome of "uncool", but they are still the easiest way for beginners to take their first steps into the six-string world. Those who have done so will be all the happier to get their hands on a sturdy and great-sounding guitar with a solid-wood top like the Fender CD-60 as their second instrument, which will allow them to start their musical journey in complete comfort.

EV
Fender is quality of sound
Edmunds V. 11.02.2014
I have several different manufacturers of cheap end guitars and the Fender CD-60 NA. I am sure that the product that carries the Fender name is of good quality and good sounding. Also in this case it does. Bought for a child can learn guitar. I like the fact that it is light weight. Comfortable neck and a pleasant sound. What else to see fit for this money in?
Changed the strings on Daddario Phosphor Bronze and remained the clearest sound yet. I am satisfied with this purchase.

V
It's pretty good for that price
VStar 29.05.2021
That guitar is pretty good for that price, BUT if you are very advanced and you want a really good guitar I recommend you something in higher price range. But for that price it does it's job. Also if you are a beginner, it's more thang enogh. I would also recomend it for intermediate players, that are on a budget.

K
Very nice guitar
Kozo 18.06.2020
It's my first Fender. For an entry level guitar I must say I was impressed. The first impression was amazement. Really easy to plan and quite a good sound.
The original strings required a change after 2 weeks (sound was not that pleasant anymore).
