Fender SQ Affinity PJ Bass Pack BLK

To come right forward, I don't have any experience playing bass, hence the starter kit. So soundwise I don't have much feedback. On overall build quality: the first annoying thing, the protective plastic film on the scratch guard its annoying to get off, this is because the plate is mounted before the film is removed trapping the edges under the volume knobs, which you need to remove to get rid of the plastic fully. Secondly, there is a lacquer spill on the neck, which is alright. And a testament to the low price. Overall I think its an amazing bass price quality-wise.

I wanted to play bass back after stopping for almost 15 years. I decided to get this bundle because it has everything included to start and at that price point you couldn't go wrong really.

Starting off with the Positives:
The Amp packs a lot of sound for practicing at home, and it has a lot of nice features (e.g. aux in).
The bass itself has that magical PJ combination. It allowed me to search for the tone I prefer (turned out: mostly Jazz pick-up). It is a versatile bass and offers a lot of sound for the value. It is not a light bass. Built quality is very high and frankly my expectations weren't that high. It really impressed me.

Negatives:
- The bass suffers from a neck dive.
- The strap is too thin and is uncomfortable.
- The tuners lose their positions easily. It is irritating a little bit.
- The knobs.. are in my opinion are the worst part in this entire package. They feel empty, you turn either one up to the 5-6 position, and nothing... then suddenly full tone. I knew when ordering this bass that it won't be of high quality, but it is just irritating how the knobs feel very hollow until you turn them up 60%..

All in all, the bundle is well thought out, costs below 300 euros to kick start your journey with the bass. I don't regret it at all, and I recommend it further to beginners.
