Decent quality

It's hollow - I would have preferred it to be solid but I don't think i'll have any issues once it's screwed into place.

The template is a nice addition.

You can get cheaper ones but it's worth the money if I'm honest.

Exactly what you would expect

No frills here, this is exactly what you would expect. Sturdy and made of thick plastic. A bit expensive in my opinion for a piece of plastic and two screws, hence the four star rating. Got it for my Fender P bass to give it a more vintage look since the pick guard had pre-drilled holes for it.

O
Great thumbrest!

Bought this for my Gretsch G2210 (Junior Jet bas I). My bass has the pickup in the middle and i wanted to play closer to the bridge.

What do you get?
You get screws and template for both the P-bass and Jazz bass with suggestion for the original mounting. You simply cut out the template and put it over the pickguard.

Quality and feel?
Its sturdy and sits like rock on mine. Nice to use and offers comfort. The tumbrest is just right for me, not to high and not to low.

So if you are missing a good spot to place the thumb on the bass, this is a good choice!

Good, but useful?
Anonymous 04.03.2016
This is cool for getting the old school vintage Fender look on a bass but I must say that it never made a difference on my bass apart from getting in the way of my slap technique. Perhaps these thumb rests died with the sixties and don't have use for the modern bass player. Just my opinion however, but this will get in the way if you play slap bass style, my hand got caught on it many times while popping or slapping through the G string. If your not a slapper though, it will look cool on your bass and you may be able to use in in your playing/technique, I just never could.
