Fender Yosemite Strat PickupSet

I decided to upgrade my very first electric guitar,my 2010 Indonisian built Squier Affinity Stratocaster which served me for 10 years with all oridinal parts. I had never in all this time opened the pickguard and looked inside, however over the years of course the original pots, which were never that good anyways, started to give and in general the quality of the stock pickups was on the bright and shrill side owing to the cheap ceramic electronics.

The Yosemite pickups give the guitar a completely new deeper and cleaner voice. I have no idea how they would sound on a guitar with a full body thickness (Affinities are thinner and lighter), however I verry much enjoy the upgraded sound. I went along and changed all electronics and pots as well to give it a fresh start and this guitar is like a new instrument. The sound is warmer and more diverse with new pots, all three pickups have a distinct voice, the combinations work briliantly, and also when I wired up my bridge pickup to the neck tone control I gained more versitility. Soon I will wire a Gilmour switch as well and this will be an absolute beast.

Pickups are definitely worth the money to bring new life to any guitar. Highly recommended!

I've installed these in a diy guitar and in comparison to my 2006 Fender deluxe strat with noiseless pickups, they sound full and well balanced. I was surprised to find out that my noiseless pickup sound so thin in comparison to the Yosemites.
Also, no staggered poles, unlike the noiseless, so volume balance across the strings is better.
Considering the price of the Yosemites, I was not expecting the huge improvement in sound compared to the noiseless pickups.

Bought along with a guitar with the immediate idea of changing the pickups out. Great little vintage sound out of even the cheapest guitars.
Easy to install, even for a first timer. Included rubber spacers and screws to replace the cheap springs and screws that came with the guitar were also a very pleasant surprise.
Plastic covers scratch easily, and the sound is a bit on the bright side, especially on the bridge pickup.

I bought these Yosemite pickups to replace the cheap Squier pickups in my HSS Stratocaster, and they gave me the sound I was looking for. Quite warm and full-bodied, but with good versatility. It doesn't make you a better player of course, but if you are looking for something in the more gentle end of the tone spectrum I can recommend these. Also quite a lot of fun installing these together with genuine Fender electronics, and even easier if you are just swapping out the pickups.
