Well impressed
Matty S 08.11.2020
Bought for use with Eve Audio SC203 monitoring system. Despite overwhelmingly positive reviews i remained sceptical it would please me as a bottom end for casual listening and monitoring sound. Pleased to say this is a tremendous value for money unit - £130 vs £460 for the Eve TS107.

While i don't have direct comparison to more expensive studio grade subs as a casual listener/producer it is more than enough. Has a clean, punchy bass response which perfectly suits smaller monitoring systems such as Eve SC203. Without it I was missing a lot of low end, SC203 has surprising bass but little impact. Upon firing up the SUBmini sound immediately became much fuller. In my situation it sounds best with phase inverted (brings a warmer, bassier response) and volume around half way, though your mileage may vary.

So to conclude this is perfect for smaller monitoring set-ups where super deep lows and loud listening volumes are not a requirement. Clean sound and very well made unit for the money.

S
Very Good Subwoofer
SimonRivera 06.11.2019
It's very useful subwoofer. I think it's not so professional but you can reach pretty good scores! In my opinion if you have a home recording studio or you have a "self made" studio, this subwoofer suits perfectly for your business.

A
Excellent value for money.
Alexander106 30.09.2014
I've got not long ago, and it sound rather impressive.
I wanted a sub I could transport and that could work with my Genelec 6010.
They were ment to play together.
You can select the frequency cut, witch is very useful.
The sound is good, but you'll get much better results if you decouple the sub from the ground. You can do so by getting some of these triangular spikes.
Overall very good value for money!

All the features you'd want for the price, plus good sound quality
Dionisis Limited 14.01.2019
My requirement was to pair a sub with the PM04 Fostex monitors. The SUBmini2 handles the job very well. The bass is tight and sounds precise, no more power is needed for desktop monitoring, and the controls are unmatched for the price range. The frequency cut-off works fine, and you also get a phase inversion switch and a volume level control. The auto-standby feature is also very useful, in that it does not affect the connected monitors i.e. no popping sound is transmitted to them, and its sensitivity is enough to keep the sub on in relatively low volume levels.
As drawbacks, I may note the lack of balanced input/output connections, and the bright blue light when the sub is on, which may annoy some if placed on eye level.
In total, I'd recommend the subwoofer to pair small studio monitors and limited studio space, thanks to its plentiful and well-implemented features and sound quality for its price range.

Good for a small sub
Refractive 26.03.2022
I bought this for a 5.1 TV setup, space was an issue for where I need to place this, I was afraid I wouldn't go low enough But this does the job nicely. I also tried it with a set of Alesis Pont 7 monitors and if filled out the bottom well, complimenting the monitors nicely.

Fostex PM-SUBmini 2 is a great mini sub for those who lacks space and need something to complete the sound of their speakers. Although a bit pricey, it offers good build quality and great sound for its size.
5 stars from me.
pros - sound great (for size) , build quality
cons- bit pricey

C
Perfect Sub with Eve audio SC203
Cyrilius 08.01.2018
My monitors found the perfect light SUB mate to complete ensure a good low frequencies response.
For bedroom/home production, that's quite enough power.
I am very happy to have this quality of sound for such low price.
Also, in terms of portability, it's not too complicated compared to bigger ones.
Only a protection over the speaker would have pleased me.

A
Amazing little thing
ArturasMegaomas 21.12.2022
Didn't believe that 5' can make such good sound. Of course, it's hasn't the breathtaking low frequensys like it's "bigger brothers" But it fits almost anywhere. It's a perfect thing when you need a sub, but don't have the place for it...

Invisible but not for bassheads
!!!MPX!!! 29.07.2018
Not so powerful, not so deep as ordinar subs with phase inverter.
With my 4" Focal Shape 40 monitors its "invisible" in system but adds much dimensions, atmosphere and naturality in sound. Stays on table near monitor.
Very good for price. Pretty fast bass and deep enought for listening even club music (not very loud). Dance effect significantly presents due to fast beats. And this beats very good for this little box!
Crossover has no effect for output jacks. In my system sub connected to another output of sound interface than monitors.

E
Very Nice Bass
Elvergun 23.07.2020
This small subwoofer delivers not a big amount of bass, but because it is not ported the clarity of the sound is very good, even considering it small size. I compared to a 8 inch Mackie (around 300 euros), and even though the Mackie would make some stuff shake in my room, it wouldnt sound as clear. My room is around 17 square meters.

I have it paired with some Presonus 3.5in monitors (for 129 Euros) and the combination works PERFECTLY. Visually, the presonus have composite cones which also fit very well with the Fostex cone.
Compared to the previously mentioned Mackie, this subwoofer would not send any noise to the Eris speakers, while the Mackie did, EVEN when it was turned off. So thumbs up for the Fostex.

The only complain I have about the subwoofer is that it only has a unbalanced RCA input and does not offer a 6.3mm jack balanced, which is pretty much standard.

Anyway, for the price I paid, and for the amount of space it takes, I dont think you can do better.
