Not for everybody
Instant Crush 03.03.2021
I would like to point out that I bought the set out of curiosity. I wanted to try them out. It turned out these are not for me. I consider myself advanced beginner/intermediate guitar player, so still learning, while trying out new stuff. The strings are very well made, and they sound good, quite bright. But I just cannot get used to heavy bass feel. In my opinion, if you need/like bass sound, get a bass guitar! Still, as explained in many other reviews, these could be fun for metal or something specific. At my level of playing, it is hard to get proper tones out of these strings, even though they feel right under fingers, the quality is good, but picking them with a pick just doesn't feel right. Still, I would recommend them for fun, or if you could use these specifically for something. I would also love to state a 200 year old proverb from my country: "Every rifle will be deadly in the hands of a skilled person".
So decide for yourself!

Excellent

Use & Clarity:
I've been using them for more than 5 years now specifically on drop C tuning and standard D and they just have excellent heavy bottom for riffage while they keep the light top without the first 3 strings be like wires so you can have a heavy bottom for riffs.

Pros & Cons:
Literally I have only good things to say about these strings they adapt awesome in my play style and I would totally recommend to anyone whose playing at lower tunings and trying stuff.

Comprehensibility:
The first time you might try them could feel a bit awkward because of that heavy bot/light top hybrid build. It's all about playing and getting used to them. The tone is very bright and with pretty nice sustain on it. Metal guys would surely love them a bit more since the solos can be as easy they would be if they had a 10-46 set. Don't forget that basically It's actually 10 on top and 60 on bottom. Even if it's one time only I would totally recommend them. Cheers!

J
Amazing D/C strings!
Jimi89 22.09.2017
I honestly couldn't be happier with these strings. I have always used a 10-60 gauge for drop C playing as I enjoy a tight low end with a nice light high end, and these strings fit the bill perfectly!

The good:
They have an excellent sound and clarity to them. I have experienced some bad note bleeds with this gauge from other manufacturers in the past but these GHS Boomers don't seem to have that problem which I am delighted about. They have a nice bright high end with a solid and chunky low end! Great for heavy music and blues.

The Bad:
Nothing....literally nothing! :)

I would recommend these strings to anybody as they have great life, great sound and a great feel to them too! 10/10

Totally bad ass

Theses strings are amazing, defo a must for the hard rock or metal sound, a deep rich bass sound but with the clarity for soloing on the higher strings, I use them on my Les Paul and my ESP EC 1000 with the right distortion/overdrive they growl nicely
