Useless

I've now had 2 of these. Both needed to be returned for the same reason. Faulty hydraulics don't stay in selected height position. When you move whilst playing (as a drummer does) the seat always changes height. As you may understand, this is not ideal when playing live shows. This is very, very poor considering the caliber of the brand and the caliber of the seller (Thomann).

I read on the website that they test products before they agree to sell them and If its not a quality product they won't sell it. I'm at a loss as to how this product passed the quality test because this is completely useless to drummers and anybody who needs a solid throne for any instrument.

Its really worse than 1 star.

I recently purchased this throne and within one week of professional teaching and gigging i had to return, the hydraulics part would not stay in selected position,up-down,up-down,maybe this is just a once off,the seat part is one of the best i've tried so i've re-ordered the screw-base type.

I would highly recommend spending the money to get a decent throne to drum with. I spent a long time playing with the stock throne that came with my first kit and it killed my back, especially when gigging. This throne is extremely sturdy, nice and heavy, easily adjustable with the lever on the seat, and of course, it’s very comfortable to use for long periods of time

Let's start off with the basic construction and quality of the throne in question. As with anything produced by Gibraltar, the construction is excellent and definitely on par with other brands and higher level thrones.

The seat, is very comfortable and ergonomically designed which in practical terms translates into feeling comfortable throughout longer rehearsals or live sets!

Cons: I would say the biggest flaw is down to the height adjustment lever mechanism underneath the seat. I would say this is not down to the actual quality of the drum throne itself but more of a design defect.

This means it tends to be very easy to bump the adjustment lever with your leg while playing, therefore causing the height to immediately drop! Definitely not the best situation to be faced with during a live gig!

Pros: Seat comfort, sturdy design, and last but not least - the price is certainly a BIG plus!
