Göldo T-Style Control Plate Slanted

Leo Fender was a design genius in many ways, but he put the telecaster volume control too close to the selector switch. Everyone and their grandmother has known this since Elvis was a boy, yet Fender and their competitors continue to produce many thousands of telecasters every year with the volume control too close to the switch. Sigh.

Goldo to the rescue! This is the only after-market retro plate I know which has addressed this problem and I strongly recommend it.

They have done two things to improve the design. First they moved the volume control further away from the switch. This simple change in itself is a big improvement.

Second is the slanted switch, so it's easier to change pickups without accidentally hitting the volume.

The only problem with the slanted slot is using a super-switch. These are often cramped in a telecaster anyway and will stick out further when mounted diagonally. I used the Goldo single-layer superswitch which I suspect is not a good as an Oak, but which I knew would fit.

As long as you have a compact single-layer switch, this is a great upgrade for your current telecaster and the obvious choice for any new-build.

Sur une telecaster, la plaque de contrôle est vraiment mal conçue. Fender continue à fabriquer ces guitares avec ce problème.

Avec cette plaque de remplacement, on peut enfin corriger cette erreur de design : selecteur et potentiomètre tres accessibles.
A l'usage c'est super.

Attention les trous pour les vis ne sont pas parfaitement alignés pour une Fender Telecaster Player, une vis est donc un peu penchée. Mais ça rentre malgré ça.

Ho preso questo plate perché a mio avviso migliora sensibilmente i due problemi che riscontravo sullo switch della mia tele: troppo vicino al volume e orientato non parallelo al movimento della mia mano, risultato: volume spesso cambiato involontariamente e switch "strattonato" un po' in diagonale.
Adesso tutto sta nella giusta posizione; i fori delle viti corrispondono al plate originale.
L'unico problema è che mi è arrivato con un difetto estetico sulla cromatura, una sorta di scolatura/graffio. Niente di serio insomma e me ne frego perché il progetto su cui devo usarlo è economico, ma sicuramente lo avessi messo su una tele american da 2000€ un po' mi avrebbe dato fastidio prendere una cosa imperfetta esteticamente. Siccome in relazione al prezzo non costa poco, mi aspetterei da Goldo per lo meno una maggior attenzione
