Never heard of it? Expensive? Buy It - Amazing mouthpiece.
Anonymous 17.12.2015
I have played and recorded professionally for many years in a variety of different styles - straight ahead jazz, pop/function bands and hotel work.

The Gottsu Alto Sepia Tone 7 is the best/most versatile mouthpiece I have ever played, capable of a contemporary (Sanborn) or jazz (Phil Woods) sound.

For many years I played the Otto Link 7* (old & new versions) followed by a Vandoren A9 medium chamber. Fine mouthpieces but I was looking for something with better articulation capable of a contemporary sound without being overly harsh.

I tried the metal Duckoff D9 and Vandoren Jumbo Java A45 mouthpieces which to me were one-dimensional and harsh/thin in the upper registers. I then had 6 mouthpieces sent from a London store to try. Of these I liked the Theo Wanne Amma and the Gottsu Sepia. Of the two the Gottsu Sepia has the edge. You can 'boot' it you are looking for a Sanborn/Dulfer type sound or play with a straight- ahead (Cannonball/Woods) style.

If you are reluctant to pay decent money for an 'unknown' mouthpiece, don't be. It's worth every penny and £70+ cheaper than you can buy it in the UK. You'll love it!

Alles geht!
