Nice, but not the best
Slambot 25.07.2020
These are nicely made tuners... and expensive! But I am a bit disappointed in the lack of control when tuning. More in a minute.

Pros:
Nice quality build (on the outside!)
Look great and are correct for many Gibsons (the reason I bought them)

Cons:
Well, firstly, I own three or four pairs. They all feel inconsistent to one another. They feel a bit jumpy and not as easy to hone in on that perfect tuning as some other brands. But in one case, my SG Supreme, they feel and seem to work great. At that guitar was the reason I bought more sets. Sooooooo.....

If I could do it again, I would just buy Sperzel - I am an old school Sperzel user from the early 1990's and they are a superior tuner... not the most comfortable to tighten down the wheel - but accurate. PRS also makes some seriously killer tuners. These Grovers definitely pale in comparison to those mentioned.

You live and learn I guess!

Perfect

Bought these to upgrade Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top Pro factory fitted with non locking Grover tuners (12:1 ratio) which were excellent quality. The swap out was simple and pretty much drop in. The small fixing scews holes were ever so slightly out of exact alignment with the tuners but still fitted with no problem. I liked that in appearance apart from the unobtrusive knurled locking wheel the tuners looked very like those replaced, really smart. The locking and spindle mechanisms are smooth and the top build quality is evident in feel and finish. The 18:1 ratio allows easy accurate tuning.
Product came well packed and in fact i was able to reuse the pack for the replaced Grover tuners for storage or selling on.
On the negative side these are way more expensive than most other 3x3 locking tuners available on the market. In my case they were more than 20% of the price of the guitar. But they were not purchased as an investment to add monetary value to the guitar rather as an improvement for personal use. So for excellent manufacturing quality, function, accurate easy fitting and appearance I doubt you could buy better.
Ease of purchase and communication with Thomann resulted in an excellent experience all round.

Just what I wanted: good locking tuners.
hammerh34d 04.02.2020
Direct replacement for my Epiphone DC Pro. They fit, but installation requires a little bit of force and courage, since originals do not have those little tiny stabilizing bumps on the surface facing the headstock.
I would suggest putting in stabilizing wood screws first, then to tihgten the bolt screw well and finally tighten the wood screws.
All and all - they work as intended, look good and seem to have potential to last. Recommended.

D
Quality tuners, easy drop in for Gibson Les Paul
Dan936 11.01.2019
Pros

Fantastic quality, love the locking side of them, well packaged, but the best thing is they fitted perfectly to my 1996 Les Paul standard. The bore is perfect and even the screw hole lined up. Mine had vintage Gibson Delux tuners on it, Jimmy Page black tie model, so they have two fixing screws on the back. These grovers only need one fixing point so you can just about see the hole from the vintage tuners at the back, but that is not the grovers fault. Very pleased and had the whole 6 installed and all re strung in about 30 mins.

Cons
Not much to say really. Maybe other makes might be cheaper, but if you?ve invested a lot of money on a decent Les Paul, why try and save money on cheap tuners that might not fit or perform as well?
