Bought this one one month a go. This will be one of my favorite stagemachines .
PRO:
She looks so nice ,is made of the finest woods finnished very smooth
The dog ears P90's do de real thing; very rif sharp to smooth Jazzy round.. The accoustic quality combined withe the pick-ups is great. The bigsby is a nice supplement...
CON:
altough the guitar is really good finnished, The Bigsby-edges underneath are sharp: I had to sand them a bit..
SO THIS IS MY BEST BUY EVER... HENCE THE AFFORDBLE PRICE
I USED TO play A "GIBSON 135" The Guild X-175 manhattan wins by far..............

Optisch sehr schöne Gitarre mit vielen liebevollen Details, klanglich auf keine Stilrichtung festgelegt. Sehr gute Verabeitung, angenehmes Handling, schön gleichmäßige Tonentfaltung, gutes Sustain, Ton gut formbar. Zwei kleine Minuspunkte, die Bridge erzeugt ein paar "Schwirrgeräusche" (die von den Pickups nicht übertragen werden und sich mit einem Tropfen Sekundenkleber aufs Gewinde der verstellbaren Reiter beseitigen lassen) und ein anfangs etwas kratziges Poti (hat sich bei Benutzung von selbst gegeben).

Guild X-175, ottima ad un prezzo abbordabile

La chitarra si presenta molto bene fin dal primo momento in cui la si estrae dalla custodia.
Ben rifinita ed immediatamente suonabile, la chitrarra esce dalla fabbrica regolata decentemente e basta accordarla per iniziare a suonarla.
La chitarra montava corde D?Addario EXL115 Nickel Wound .011-.049, dopo le prime prove la ho allineata alla mia cordatura standard per le hollow body che prevede corde lisce 013 - 056
Non ho rilevato particolari problemi con la nuova cordatura, ho solo dovuto regolare adeguatamente la truss rod per compensare la maggior trazione delle corde.
Anche l'accordatura oltre il 12° tasto non ha dato problemi con la scalatura 013 - 056, è bastato smontare il ponte ed invertire le sellette di Re, La, e Mi basso.
In questo modo ho ottenuto i pochi millimetri necessari a correggere la loro accordatura leggermente calante oltre il 12° tasto.
La chitarra monta il Bigsby e per questa ragione il ponte è fissato al piano armonico, ma l'intervallo di regolazione del diapason delle singole corde dopo la modifica del ponte si è rivelato adeguato anche per la mia scalatura abituale.
Per compensare la maggioir trazione delle corde, che ha abbassato la leva del vibrato rispetto al battipenna, ho montato la molla Bigsby da 1" in sostituzione di quella da 7/8" in dotazione.
Inutile aspettarsi che un Bigsby abbia le prestazioni di un Floyd Rose, sono due prodotti diversi, nati in epoche diverse per rispondere ad esigenze diverse.
Il Bigsby risponde efficacemente alle esigenze del rock and roll, rockabilly o del country, che prevedono un vibrato di scarsa estensione, e comunque un uso "morbido" della leva.
Se si vuole una escursione più estesa, e si vuole sollecitare con più violenza la leva, bisogna rivolgersi ad altre chitarre ed altri sistemi di vibrato.
Il suono della riedizione dei pickup Franz single coil rimanda agli anni '50 del secolo scorso, può spaziare dal Rock & Roll, al Blues ed il Jazz senza problemi.
Ho acquistato la chitarra proprio per la presenza di questi pickup montati su un piano armonico in laminato, il suono acustico è penalizzato dalla presenza dei pickup sul piano armonico, ma è mia opinione che il suono elettrico sia splendido.
Posseggo anche una Gibson ES-175 Natural del 2001 che monta pickup humbucker Gibson PAF, il "colore" e l'espressività della riedizione pickup Franz single coil rappresentano il suono che cercavo, "alternativo" a quello della Gibson ES-175.
Sinceramente non riesco a considerare la Gibson ES-175 migliore della mia nuova Guild X-175, è un altro modo di "essere chitarra".
Oggi una Gibson ES-175 Natural costa circa cinque volte il valore della Guild X-175, non discuto se sia giustificata la differenza di costo fra la Gibson e la Guild, sono due chitarre diverse ed il loro suono, ed il loro "carattere", sono diversi.
Sono entrambe chitarre validissime, a me piacciono entrambe e suono entrambe con piacere e soddisfazione.
