An OK guitar, not the best Benton
cpt Riker 19.05.2022
Additional info after 11 months of use:
In hindsight I find the pickups rather dull and boring, and I plan on replacing them with something more exciting and fun. They were nice at first, but in the long-run I want something with more punch and feeling.

I also encountered a minor technical issue. I suddenly could not get any sound for two of the switch positions, only one of the three worked. This led to time-consuming trouble-shooting. It turns out some of the cables in the guitar were somehow short-circuiting the electronics. So simply moving them into a better position solved the issue.

All in all, it's an OK guitar. The look and feel is great, however you might get bored with the pickups after a while, there's not enough feel to them.

The best Benton guitar at the €200 level is the TE-70 ... in my opinion. That one had pickups that I don't want to replace, it sounds really good, much better than the DC-600. So if you are choosing between different Bentons, I would recommend that one, at this price-level.

//End of update

This is my 2nd Benton purchase, having previously bought the TE-70 Black Paisley, which I've been more than happy wth.

I did not find any issues that affected sound and playability, ... at worst one of the strings had minor buzz but that what quickly and easily fixed by me.

The neck is smooth and feels great in the hand, and the fretboard feels nice and quick. I did not have any fret issues with my copy. The creamy colour is very inviting for the mind, you want to pick it up and touch it.

There were a few manufacturing marks on the guitar, like tiny scratches or indentations on the surface, but nothing you won't notice unless you look very closely. Some of the screws on the backplate looks to have been put there rather sloppily or hastily, it's not quality work for sure.

One of the machine heads was slightly unaligned from the rest. These are just cosmetic issues though, nothing worth fixing in my opinion since they don't affect sound, feel and handling.

I'm happy with the pickups but will probably replace the machine heads, the existing ones work well and do the job, but I don't like that green colour on the knobs.

As for sound, it's a highly versatile guitar; it has the full depth of tone suitable for blues and jazz, as well as the gritty gain ideal for proper rock a là AC-DC, Motörhead and Guns N' Roses.

In summary: a guitar with good and versatile sound options, great feel and handling, good set-up by Thomann, inviting looks, but with a few minor production faults. And 'yes', I would buy more guitars by Harley Benton in the future.

Ok for somebody new

I thought this was okay first but little problem after another eventually made this guitar unplayed for 2 years it sits in the corner not doing anything, I believe HB do some really good cheap low end instruments but the guitar this is trying to be is over £10k I would of prefered a more simple Tele or Strat by Harley benton like the others I've tried

Needs some TLC ....

Mine came with raspy frets, so fret rubber time.
Other than that, plays well and I have three Epiphone Burstbuckers to drop in it, to help out on the sound front.
The stars don't really do it justice as the base unit can be made to sound really nice with a bit of tweaking and I have to say that the pickups are a bit basic but for that price it's a steal and a worthy instrument, especially if you are prepared to make it a bit of an upgrade project.
