Harley Benton D-120NT, you're going to be astonished.

I've been playing acoustics for 30 years and I've owned probably 20+ guitars over the years. Had a few epihones, about 8 fenders, Jack and Danny, Yamaha's etc ranging from £100 to £500. When I saw the 120NT at £58 I thought it might turn out to be just another Chinese copy of poor construction and sound so I read all the reviews which stated the opposite so I took the plunge and bought one. First thing I did was remove the plastic nut and saddle and replaced them with bone which I do with all acoustics. Set the action at 2.5mm on the 11th fret and .75mm on the first fret.
The build quality is fabulous and I can't find any flaws anywhere either in the finish or the wood grain. I've had the camera inside and its immuculately put together, flawless again. I've spent 3 days trying to find the catch, because there must be one at the price but I can't find one.
How does it play? You'd need to spend £200+ to get the same sound or even more if I'm 100% honest. It's loud, the overall sound is similar to an Epi Hummingbird but much better than an Epi AJ200 because it has better sustain. The rest of the guitars I've had can't even approach it, not even close. I'm so impressed I've ordered a set of Grover tuners in gold plate and a set of abalone dot inlays just to bring the looks closer to the sound its making. It sounds like a solid top, the camera inside was inconclusive as to whether it is or not but I can't see any plywood layering on the profile of the sound hole but it sounds better than many solid tops I've owned so I suspect it is.
How Thomann have done this has got to be one of the biggest mysteries of the 21st century. Get one.

Am I reading this right

Wow,wow, wow ,I was well surprised, solid spruce top ,X bracing ,maghony back &sides the tone woods are here ,action is great and neck so playable ,I have seen guitars 4 times more expensive that don't have this quality, not only suited for beginners but a one for all,it's a workhorse which you can bring anywhere ,and will only get better in time due to its solid woods ,and oh the price I pinched myself amazing value when all the middle men are taken out ,sometimes there is a snobbery when prices are cheap and you automatically think something is lacking quality, not here a excellent guitar ,I highly recommend

the guitar came in three weeks, it would be even faster if it were not for the Russian post. there were two pickguards in the kit, a lot of protection on the guitar itself. frets need to be sanded, but these are trifles. the sound of the guitar is good, spacious, readable. I did not notice any defects, it glitters. highly recommend for purchase

Great twang for your buck!

I bought this as a side thing, for travelling or for when I can't be bothered to fire up the electric but still wanna hear what I play. I've been pretty happy so far. It sounds nice and clear, it looks good and the finish and details are all pretty decent for the price. The guitar not too light and feels sturdy, which is a bonus for me: I don't like instruments that feel too "flimsy".

It plays pretty easy thanks to the big frets and smooth neck, no sprout or anything to complain about in that department. The tuners could be slightly better, but maybe it's just the strings that needed stretching or replacing. I used it to teach a beginner, as well (me on electric, her on this one), and she also found it great.

A solid acoustic at a friendly price, would recommend to any beginner or even advanced player who wanted "just one more guitar" without breaking the bank.
