Crystal clear sound

Summary - Incredible speakers (specially for the cost)

I now have the speakers on ISO-Acoustic speaker stands instead of the foam which do help with sound and bass clarity and punch further. My space is also treated with acoustic panels.

Sound field is just so clear and precise. It is like some users describe going froom SD to HD. There is a level of clarity and definition to the sound that is hard to describe unless you hear it. This is not to be confused with just being brighter which can sound harsh and unpleasant to the ear. These speakers are a clean, transparent and perfect for any low to mid price project studio. For higher range bigger studios I would go with type 20 and 30.

Supporting an upcoming newer company like HEDD has a lot of benefit. You will get a lot more value for your money and these will outshine speakers costing 2+ times the cost.

I also want to say about finish of the speakers. I wasn't sure if I will like what some users called a rubbery coating but, having the speakers I actually think it's great. It's not a sticky rubber but, rather silky and smooth and I actually love it. I think it adds to the quality of the speakers although I am not sure how well it will age over time.

Bass - Easily as good as my 2 x 6" Klipsch Tower speakers with more clarity

Mids - If anything can be improved it would be in here but, you will need to go to a 3 way design.

Highs - Open, Clean, transparent, non-fatiguing.

Get the speakers, you will not be disappointed!

Excellent precision tools

I have shifted from using the Adam F7s to the HEDD Type 07s for about 2 weeks. I am both a musician and audiophile who does occasional mixing.

My first impressions were that these are really balanced and accurate, and pleasing to the ears at the same time. The separation and resolution of these are just surreal. I am able to hear many different layers of instruments that I've never heard before on very familiar songs. However, it needs some burn-in time to sound less harsh and stiff, and the process is still ongoing for my pair.

Make no mistake, i still love the Adams to bits, but mixing on the HEDDs is a lot easier. I find myself being able to discern very small EQ tweaks on the HEDDs. Using them together with the HEDD Linearizer just elevated the experience to a whole new level, with much better clarity and sense of space. These are just absolute precision tools.

Compared to other studio monitors I've heard, these are much easier on the ears and therefore cause less fatigue. But it does not mean that it is forgiving, it WILL still make a poorly recorded mix very obvious, to the point I find it difficult to enjoy sub-par mixes even from established artists.

One needs to bear in mind that these are built for professional audio, and the HEDD type 07s delivers in spades in this regard.

Long listenings without fatigue.

Working with tracks from classical to metal, I was looking for a good replacement for my vintage Tannoy Super Gold 12 inch concentrics, who served well for decades. I could work for hours without fatigue. Once the HEDDs in place, I was impressed with the power in the lows, with less coloration. I have an Adams sub, but for most tracks, I do not need it with the HEDDs. The ribbon tweeters are not too agressive, and have enough bite for rock music.
Vocals sound very realistic and pleasant, both at low and high levels.
From opera over jazz to metal, 3D image is superb.
Great compact monitors for long sessions.

Sonic excellence

These studio monitors provide a superb working and listening experience across the spectrum.

My previous (and first) monitors were Prodipe Pro, a very budget choice, but I also have firsthand experience with Adam A7x and Focal Solo6 Be. After some internet research and consulting with more experienced people I trust, I decided to go with HEDD. Although they are designed by the same person as A7x, they are their own beast and sounding far better: the tweeter is seamlessly integrated with the rest of the sound and there is no bass port distortion on higher volume. Its harder to compare them to Solo6, but the main issue I had with them was that highs were quite harsh compared to the silky clear HEDD AMT tweeter.

You can expect all the hearing joy from the monitors of this price: the dynamic range is deep, the transients are precise, minor changes in sound are noticeable, there's an ear-opening clarity from low to highs, stereo panorama actually exists. And one of my favorite things: it is very non-fatiguing.

They work very well in my 20 m2 room, but they are very powerful and I think Type 05 would work just as good.
