You can't go wrong with this one

- Use -
I'm a hobbyist and play what ever I like, ranging from clean finger style, to heavy metal. It covers it all without issues.

- Pros -
I have it for a year now (older model with rosewood fingerboard), almost everything on this guitar i a pro. Ergonomics is great! It's light (mine weights 2.7kg!), balanced, and with neck through you get all the access to upper frets you ever wanted.
The neck is great, I was used to Wizard II so I wasn't expecting to feel any change, the only difference listed online is that Wizard III is 2mm wider at 12 fret. Which is nothing. But the profile is also slightly different. On Wizard II there's a noticeable flat spot on it. Wizard III is more of a C shape which for me is great.
When I wiped the fretboard with lemon oil, the rag was almost perfectly clean, so no dying of any kind there.
Finish on the guitar is great! I couldn't find anything to complain, I feel like woodwork and finishing is where most care was taken when building it.

- Cons -
My had unleveled frets, which was strange because they were perfectly rounded. Not just filed down, actually rounded, you can tell serious time was put to getting those ends nice and spherical. There are other reviews online of this guitar without this problem, so I guess i got lucky with a "Friday guitar".
I contacted Thomann and they offered I return it and exchange for another one, but I liked it too much and decided to solve the issue with a visit to a luthier. In turn Thomann gave me a discount on it, so - yay Thomann!
Also, pickup switch doesn't feel like the best one out there, feels to easy to switch. But, after a year of use it shows no issues and I don't plan to replace it.

- Sound -
Guitar sounds perfect. Air Norton is very open and airy, middle position with both pickups active is great for cleans, it has this wooden quality to it. Tone Zone is also great, very alive.
Both pickups are very responsive to height change. I ended up doing less than quarter of a turn adjustments (pole pieces also).
They also respond to volume and tone control on the guitar very well, with a wide range of tone.
Classic set of pickups that just works.

- Conclusion -
Neck through, DiMarzio pickups, in that price range? Good luck trying to find a better deal.
I don't have GAS and this could be the last guitar I buy in a long time. (I'm lying, I'll probably get a Harley Benton single cut sooner or later, out of curiosity if nothing else).

If stolen would I buy it again? Absolutely!

Great features, with lacking quality.
AlexIliadis., 13.04.2018
I received the guitar a couple of days and wanted to spend some time with it before i write a review. So after 3 days of playing at home, recording and rehearshing. Here is my opinion and experience with the guitar i received.

Pros.

Looks. 5/5. - The guitar looks wonderful, its beautiful to look at, the Jatoba wood on the neck is a very light brown nothing compared to the image, but i like it. The neck through were you can see the woods it also great, along with the green-blue to blue burst.

Finish. - 4,5/5 For the price point, its as good as it gets, a couple of spot where you can see saw dust caught under the paint. You also can spots were they paint got under the protective tape. But those are really nitpicky things you actually have to look for in order to see. For the price its good.

Feel. 5/5 - I am used to the Super wizard neck from my Ibanez ltd rg550, which is thinner, but after a couple of days my hand got used to the wizard 3, the guitar is light and comfortable to hold standing or sitting. Fully satisfied with it.

Sound. 4/5 - The dimargio's themselves sound beautiful, my only complaint is that they have quite a difference in output, so i need to adjust the gain on my interface every time i swap between pick ups while recording. Which is minor but annoying.

Electronics. 2.5/5 - Pots and switch feel super cheap, they are so easy to turn, they feel very loose . Pick up selector feels plastic. The input jack though is steady. They are usable, but definitely would upgrade them in the future.

Hardware. 4,5/5. The bridge is simply ok. And the tuners are decent. For the price you cant complain. I would definitely swap the tuners out in the future but for now they seem to do the job.

Quality Control. Here are the biggest negatives of them all, and the reason why i am considering returning the guitar. I would like to note that for most of the negatives i mention i have documented the unboxing process on a video, so i have proof about everything i say, and it is availiable to thomann. (maybe i ll put it up on youtube)

Packaging/Delivery. 1/5 The guitar arrived ok and in time (considering it was delayed 2 times by the Easter of Catholics and Orthodox). BUT

When i got the box there was a hole on the bottom side, it must have happened on the Post Office/delivery, its like someone poked it with a metal bar or some shard edge. I blame it on the post office.

Also the inner box with the guitar was not wrapped around with bubble wrap. But rather put against it on the one side and on the other it had nothing. So ,had it been that side of the box that got poked the guitar would be damaged. I blame Thomann's packaging team for that.

Quality.

Set up. 2.5/5- The action was ultra high and the intonation way off. I was told that the thomann stuff would check on the guitar and set it up before shipping. They did a poor job. Ultimately it has nothing to do with the guitar but i had to re-adjust everything.

Neck 4,5/5. - The neck had a slight back bow but its, ok. Due to the time period it spent some time in post offices, both for the Catholic and Orthodox Easter. No biggie, easy to fix and understandable.

Frets/Fretboard/Nut 1/5. - Now he is my biggest issue with it. Although the were no sharp edges on the frets. They themselves felt like sand paper. So i send some time doing bends on each string to get rid of that with natural friction.

The frets seems levels but there is a minor fretbuzz across the neck, that annoys me.

Then the nut has 2 issues. 1 its came with a scratch from a file, apparently they worker on the factory missed and instead of putting another one in place he left it there, it doesnt affect the playability but there is a deep cut/scratch from a file and you can see it.
Now considering the price i would give it a pass, but then the nut itself is too high and most likely will need to be sanded down to get it a comfortable level of playing. So the action is set up properly.

That's my review. I am in a pickle I really like the guitar and want to keep it, especially considering there wont be another batch for a month and most likely i 'll have to wait. The features are its saving grace, but some of the quality issues come down to craftmanship. I ll take this guitar to a guitar tech, and given the price he requests, i take the appropriate action.
