Nice synth but (in my experience) bad MIDI implemetation

As a standalone unit I can't fault the UNO, especially for the price. It has a nice feature set and range of sounds, the touch-keyboard is surprisingly good and it's very compact but also very usable.

I've deducted points for what seems to be bad MIDI implementation; I have issues with the synth producing no sound if the wrong thing is highlighted in the DAW (despite MIDI signal being sent to the UNO), the arp won't trigger via MIDI, and so a lot of what I wanted to use it for I just can't. It could be a faulty unit, but I never got a response to my customer service ticket to IK, so I don't know. Based on my experience I would also rate IK's service at zero stars.
In addition, the supplied USB cable is pathetically short and it is quite picky in terms of using an alternative; I tried several cables before finding one that would work and it doesn't like USB passed through an intermediate device.

I am using the UNO synth in my little homestudio and it works very well so far.

Quality:
- the processing is unsatisfactory
- Rotary controls are slightly slack and do not seem stable but working well overall

Features:
- all needed adjustments are available (wobble, arp, envelope and so one)
- quite nice presets
- programming space for creating own set up?s
- small sice, so its easy to take it with you any time

Handling:
- knobs are relativly precise (but still a little bit loose)
- easy to progam own set ups

Sound:
- forget anything mentioned above because the sound is f****ing amazing!!!!
Realy nice warm n clear analog Sound and also the effects are very nice to play

So overall i recommend to buy this true analog synth.

For the price and size this thing sounds amazing!
I've only had it a few days and haven't explored all the features but I'm so impressed with it. Ok it has a bit of a flimsy feel and the keypad takes a bit of getting used to, but for the price point it's never going to have the solid feel of something three or four times the price; yet it has the sound of something much more expensive!
I haven't yet plugged it into a PC, mac or ipad to edit any of the parameters as I haven't felt the need to. Honestly if this thing just came with the preset sounds with no ability to change them it would still be worth the money!

I have a few Korg Volcas and this connects easily to them using the (included) midi out cable. It also sounds btter than all of the Volcas I own, and I love them.

Buy one!
