Quiet, oh so Quiet
pd4life2000 15.11.2014
This item was a revelation for me, because my Engl Savage has no built in noise gate and as such buzzes louder than a swarm of bees, even when you aren't playing.

The fact is so much gain is always going to give so much noise but when you want your amp to shut up it's not always easy to hush it without a Killswitch.

That's where the Decimator comes in. This is a 2 channel noise suppressor and is arguably the smartest working mechanism on the market. In channel 1 you put your raw guitar feed, which allows the decimator to remove all of the noise coming from sounds picked up by your pickups, i.e. the room, your wireless system, other speakers etc.

Channel 2 is where the business really happens. Connect it up to feature right before the Power Amp sends the sound out to the speaker and believe me you can achieve silence.

I have my settings at about 12 o'clock and on an Engl Savage (Gain heavy amp), even with gain on the lead channel at 9 o'clock (that's 3 quarters full) I can get a complete silent sound when not playing. The decimator just cuts in right where you need it most.

Whats more if you want a little bit of noise or some feedback to come in, you can just reduce the threshold of when the decimator kicks in. No more humming, no more buzzing, just clean and crystal clear guitar sounds.

I couldn't live without it now and having seen a few live bands recently who didn't have noise gates and whom had really buzzy amps, I had to recommend it to them. Buzz is a complete Buzkill when playing live and if you're serious about your sound then you won't go wrong with this.

Utterly amazing.
