Sound Deflector Shield

  • Suitable for trumpet, trombone, baritone, tenor, alto, and soprano saxophones (straight and curved)
  • Ideal for practising at home
  • Can be mounted on the instrument in a few seconds
  • Very effective when playing in a band
  • Directs the sound from the instrument directly to the player's ears
  • Articulation and dynamics are much easier with the deflector because you can hear yourself much better
  • The player hears exactly the sound that the listener hears
  • Mirror TRP for trumpet and straight soprano saxophone made of fibre-reinforced high-strength plastic
  • Mirror TRB for trombone
  • Mirror SAX for baritone, tenor, alto, and curved soprano saxophone made of transparent polycarbonate
  • Metal pieces are made of polished brass and stainless steel
  • Instrument interface made of TPE (thermoplastic elastomer)
  • Weight depends on instrument -- between 55g and 80g
  • Includes clip made of fibre-reinforced high-strength plastic and cloth bag

Normally I don't play my Saxophone after 2200, due to quiet hours but now I can play around the clock without disturbing anyone.

Yes it works somehow but not as dramatic as I thought. I used a few times and it sits in the case now...simple to put on the Sax but kinda bothers me to have some plastic hanging in front of a beautiful metal - especially when it has not so pronounced effect...Frankly, I would not buy it if I had tried first...My advice try first if possible...

I use this a lot in the practice room. I don't really use in on gigs as I'm usually using IEM's. It's very valuable in the practice room for two main reasons I think:
1) you can hear your sound, colour and tuning very well, and are less reliant on the room acoustics... great if you're in a very dry room!
2) it's great for practicing quiet dynamics... because you can hear what you're doing better
