It feels like a modern classic
Marc JX8P, 20.07.2018
I was looking for a polyphonic synth with analog character - compact, but a great sound to go along with my other mostly VA or digital synths. After evaluating several synths in this price range and listening to YT videos demonstrating the sounds, the Prologue was absolutely my favourite (of course - this will depend on the kind of sounds you love, I am really into classic synth music like Vangelis).

The Prologue is everything I expected and more. It looks stunning - classic style but with modern lines - and it sounds gorgeous. I am also intrigued by the programmable user oscillator and fx - looking forward to see what will come there... There's loads of great presets and the front panel really makes editing very easy. A couple of things in the way you can quickly do stuff (like favourite a sound) aren't marked on the panel so you do need to learn some stuff but tbh. it really quickly becomes second nature to find the right buttons, and the normal sound parameters are easily findable. I just have it - but it already feels like the synth I've been waiting for for years!

sounds just wonderful
arnorhs, 29.12.2019
sound shaping on oscillators is amazing. shape on all waveforms. together with the digital osc provides a lot of timbres and can make aggressive and dirty sounds.

Tuning seems fine - oscillators go out of tune after a few mins, but you ust recalibrate and everything is dandy.

The obvious downsides, lack of modulation options (only two evelopes and a single lfo, with limited destinations), but for me that is just fine.

just like with a lot of HW synths, saving patches is super clumsy.. you have to save to a temporary slot before saving to a final destination, since you have no way of knowing which slots are free (set to init) until you change patches. naming patches is also awkward and annoying.

a poly sequencer would be nice.

however, the downsides are mostly just feature choices, and i bought the synth for the tone and sound, and i am not at all disappointed. just sounds really good.

Got this couple months ago and so far feeling great to explore possibilities. Top analog sound raw as it can be with plenty option and cool hybrid fx unit.

ohne handbuch geht nix
