Blown away by the bass
KaarelK, 11.03.2020
Using this on a IsoAcoustics ISO-200Sub on the floor, with 2x KRK Rokit RP8 G4 in my living room music listening / gaming setup. This is my first proper subwoofer, so I don't have comparison exprience, but I can say this subwoofer added a new dimension to my music listening experience. I was really surprised about the power of the sound this subwoofer can output. I can literally feel that sound is a physical wave with very deep bass notes (the joys of having proper bass for the first time in my life I guess :-))

The bass can literally make my room vibrate while still having a crisp sound. Admittedly, I'm not running it higher than 25% of the power to have some mercy on my neighbors.

As some pros, I would bring up the features I have found useful: 1)input sensitivity switch - nominal or high. I'm using it on high. From what I understand if you have really high end sound configuration you can use nominal
2)ground switch can be set to lift or ground. In my case using the lift position removed some electrical interference from my computer's graphics card when it is under high load
3)Polarity switch - 0 and 180
4)Crossover frequency - 4 positions, 60, 70, 80 and 90 hz. I guess this could improved by having it as a dial so you could have more precise control than 10hz steps

Build wise, it feels sturdy.

In counclusion this purchase has brought me much joy.

Insanely powerful
Cristii, 21.03.2020
As the heading says, it is extremely powerful and can deliver outstanding bass sounds. I have been using it for a few months now, and I can definitely say it has improved my producing process a lot. I can really tackle that low-end and chisel it to my liking, without "fearing" that it might be crumbled up when played on big speakers/live. Definitely a huge boost to my production quality.

Feels very sturdy and solid. I also use the stand-by mode to save energy!

All in all, pricey but so worth it...

Very open and tight bass sound
basmeyer, 28.01.2020
And like another experienced user said, and I followed his advice wisely, pick the 10S over the 8S if you have to choose and space is not really an issue. The 10S goes really deep and creates a perfect monitoring set with e.g. the Rokit 5 gen 4.
If you crank up the volume it is definitely a butt kicker! At all volumes, its bass response stays tight and defined.
With the Rokit 5 gen 4 best sound so far seems to be 80 Hz crossover, although 90 Hz would do too.
I really miss some more settings on the crossover frequency dial, like 2 more stops: 100 Hz and LFE (filter bypassed). I can only imagine that KRK left out these settings to keep the design most foolproof... but I want also want to use this sub occasionally in a setup where LFE is mandatory. In a while I am considering to sacrifice the Earth lift switch that I will not use (because I like proper wiring) and make that LFE on/off. Thought the size would be bigger that expected, but it happens to be most acceptable.
Its 160W RMS power is matching the 2 Rokit 5's well. That was another thing, the 8S would in my opinion just be slightly underpowered if you want to take the full advantage of the output of the set. (Mind that the low-end demands MUCH more power than mid/high.)
