Sounds Good
Stephen662, 15.07.2015
These monitors sound great and well balanced: I have read all the reviews and seen that some people rate these as 'over egged' &' 'bass heavy', 'flattering' etc...

I have to say, that in a nice room and positioned correctly these monitors are the business at their price point. Let's face it, £xxx is not 'cheap' by any means - so you expect results. These monitors really do sound good - and listening to my old mixes did show several things:

1/ I could hear errors that I had made - the detailed midrange was very good.
2/ I could really hear the top end, especially the hi-hats. What was smeared before was really crisp and defined here.
3/ I could enjoy mixing and listening at much lower levels due to the fullness of the sound.
4/ The bottom end extension was solid and gave a lot of information.
5/ The KRK's sound travels well; so what you hear on them will sound acceptable on other systems and vice versa; obviously this gets better as you get more familiar with them.

These monitors do run hot - I was concerned, but come winter they will cut the heating bill :)

The KRK's feature level, bass and treble controls allowing you to tailor the response; important because not everyone has a perfect room. So, if you have to put these closer to a wall than you would like - well, you can turn down the bass.

The user manual/guide is good and full of tips and suggestions regarding placement and settings.

Now, go and make some noise!

Flexibility well worth the price!
Ollie E., 26.04.2016
I bought a pair of these at the end of last year and I have waited until now to give them a review so that I could test them out properly.

The features available on these make the speakers very versatile. The various inputs make it easy to connect to whatever device you want with no problems. The controls (potentiometers) on the back have small clicks as you move them so you know how far to move them which makes matching the controls on a pair of speakers a whole lot easier. You can increase the High Frequencies and Low Frequencies using the controls on the back, and are very effective at doing the job, but generally I keep those controls flat as I adjust the EQ from my control desk. A feature that I find very useful and is often overlooked, is the stand-by power mode. If the speakers don't detect any signal going through them, after 30 minutes they will switch themselves off. This is great for me as I can turn the speakers on in the morning, and I can come and go through out the day and they'll always be ready. I now no longer need to worry about turning speakers off every time I leave the room.

The sound. I think that these speakers sound great, regardless of price, but when you consider actually how much you're paying and the quality you're getting. It's incredible. I have put these through their paces and they have held up amazingly, near enough no harmonic distortion, which, when you are doing a mix or recording, is exactly what you want.
A nice little touch is the addition of absorbing pads on the bottom to help reduce the amount of unwanted rattling and what not from whatever the speakers are sitting on.
Overall, I highly recommend these. They have a number of different uses and do their job wonderfully every time, without fail. You can certainly get your money's worth out of them!

Can't beat these...
Marco9072, 12.05.2015
... bang for the buck.

They're my second pair because I also own the RP6.

These are my favourite monitors ever. Very transparent, accurate, powerful, dynamic, and of extremely good build quality. And they look incredible too.

I have them connected through a DSP and I use them mainly for video post-production monitoring. They excel to be honest, revealing how limited my recordings are at times...

I would absolutely recommend these or the RP6 for someone searching for an excellent pair of amplified monitors for their studio or home environment. You can't be wrong with these, top choice.

I should emphasise the build quality and the components. The cabinet is gorgeous and very sturdy. When you first pick them up and unbox, you soon realise how good they feel, right out of the box. Absolute top quality build and robust, they really look they'll last forever. And when you hook them up and start playing some tracks with them, wow, awesome quality. This could also be very adequate for a stereo system, in my opinion.

Top quality, again, fully recommend.

Awesome monitors!!
Deni K., 26.01.2017
To be honest, these are the first monitors that I own, but I've been at my share of studios, and I know what a monitor does and how it should sound like. And I've done a lot of research before opting for these monitors.

And I'm glad that I did. No offense to the studio standard Yamaha's, I personally like the definition and the sound these KRK's produce. I know the Yamaha's are supposed to be very flat and give a natural response, and that when you're used to working on them, other monitors won't cut it. But I just simply don't like the flatness of the sound Yamaha has, and in my opinion, any monitor can be a benchmark for you, if you get used to something, you always know what to do in the mix when you listen it on the monitors you got used to. Now, why not get used to a monitor that sounds good to you? ;)

For me, that's the KRK's. I'm definitelly glad I bought these. You won't hear a bad word out of my mouth (or a bad letter from my keyboard in this instance, right? ;) ) about this monitor. And I'd recommend them to anyone who's not thrilled about the standard Yamaha's. I don't mean to diss a great Yamaha monitor, they would not be used if they weren't that good, so they're definitelly a ''studio standard'' for reason, but I'm just saying, there's a great alternative for people who aren't in love with the Yamaha's ;)

It's a 7/10
wize, 07.11.2017
I bought them for a bit more than a year ago and I'm happy with their results but I think they have an unnecessarily high low frequency response. I love their quality but sometimes the bass is too much, even with the -2db LF Level Adjust.
I like the fact that they offer connection via XLR, 1/4-inch jack and RCA phono.
I would not recommend them for someone that is looking for a linear frequency response, which for me, it's one of the most important facts when it takes to studio monitors.

I love this speakers. I use them in studio to play with a loop station and very diverse instruments. Voice, didgeridoo, guitar, percussions. The bass sounds great.
I am very happy with them.

KRK RP8s review
06.05.2015
Use these speakers in my home studio. I used to have Alesis M1 actives and have tried been in various other studios with different set ups. I've been very impressed with the bottom end on these. Far more down there than with the Alesis. Would have been nice if they were a bit more tweakable in terms of EQ but apart from that no complaints at all. I had to dial the bass back 1db is there was just too much of it. Great sound for the price in my opinion. I'm mixing a wide range of stuff from subby electronic through to a variety of acoustic instruments and they cope well with everything. Very happy.

Studio Speakers (001)
Tony T, 06.05.2014
The sound quality from these speakers is way beyond what I expected
and I have no problem in recommending them.
I have friends with similar speakers but they don't come close to the
quality of sound production as the KRK RP8 RoKit G3
they are fantastic and I Love them.

Top class monitors
bobek901, 27.12.2017
When I was buying the monitors I didn't really realize do I need them but now I know that I can not live without them. Quality of sound is amazing. Moving from pc speakers to them makes a huge difference. I used them with music production, djing, listening music and you can hear every detail. Now due lack of time and changing house I am using them as speakers for my tv and they also do a great job.
