I you want to play saxophone, instead of mastering woodworking

You might enjoy getting yourself familiar with how reeds work. I did as well, for a while. Then I just got frustrated with rolling the dice every time I spend money on reeds.

What you get if you buy this synthetic reed, is that you put it on the mouthpiece, and it will play. The same way, every time - until a certain point of course. No bullshitting with what could you have gone wrong with installing or preparing the reed, why is it not like the others, etc etc. This is an immense pain in the ass when you start playing the sax, and you don't even know yet about most of the stuff you can be doing wrong.

So you buy this, put it on the sax, so you can focus on what actually matters.

Very good performance, even throughout whole range. Low register is really easy to play with this reed. Performs equally well with all of them. However for the altissimo range depending on the mouthpiece it can take a bit more effort. In this case I find it easier with the 2,25. I use it with Otto Link 7, Meyer 9 MM and Vandoren V16. Performs equally well with all of them. For Meyer as it has a bit smaller chamber versus the other two, I need to upgrade the reed to size 2,25 in order to have the altissimo coming out effortlessly as well.

I've been playing on the same Légère Signature for the past 6 months...daily! It finally get's a little soft. The new one obviously played a little bit harder, but not much. So, very consistent indeed. Unbelievable longevity.
