A step forward

Having used the old V1 for a while and business getting more busy we needed some more speakers. Having used Mackie products before we decided to carry on using them. While the V1s had the old style amps these new Mackies have the Digital amps and wasn't too keen on the idea of them but I was wrong! Great clarity, great response and you can crank them as much as you want totally brilliant!

Pros:
- Light!
- Good quality sound
- Easy to use
- Very robust

Cons:
- The back panel is overly complicated - No need for a mini mixer at the back!
- The DSP doesn't add anything extra to the sound
- Theres one volume control for Line and Mic speaker out which can be a pain.

Crux of my review: If you need good sounding, robust speakers get these!

Our band is using these speakers for a while now: both for rehearsal as for live performance on small to medium sized venues, when there's no need for a full pa system. Only vocals, kick & snare and the sousaphone. They do a great job!
Pros:
really clear sounding vocals, easy to use, lightweight & versatile
Cons:

To be honest: i'm thinking about buying another pair to replace the old stage monitors and rack amp.

Very good PA speaker
Anonymous 21.11.2016
I use two of these for my main PA - but so far tried them on acoustic music live, just acoustic guitars and vocals - and a bit of playback music. Sound is definetely VERY GOOD - i don't say excellent because i don't really have experience with more fancy, expensive speakers - and very spreading, punchy and with good detail. I have read several concerns about their quality, but they do seem robust and reliable, however i had no problems so far.Maybe other reviewers crank up the gain beyond the speaker limits - and then complain about durability!

Speakers seem quite loud, still i didn't turn gain past 12 o clock. No need to do so - with about 200 people audience, a yamaha mg 124cx mixer sendind line livel, volume was more than adequate. Anti feed back works perfectly. They are not so heavy as they look.

Overall, a good purchase!
