Strong performance chair
CB425 16.05.2013
Very happy with this chair. Solid ,heavy build which folds down for transporting. Quite a bit of variation possible in height and foot rest position made it easy to find a good playing position (I'm 6ft with a light build but would expect the chair to be good for people much larger than myself). Have used the chair both live and in the studio. Live, it is quite a weight to transport as well as space consuming (even when folded) however, it has provided a sturdy platform to work from (and one which other performers have been keen to borrow!) The seat and footrest are on bolts which have quickly become a little slack. This is not actually a problem in terms of the seat structure but merely that when trying to transport the chaor, the seat in it's folded position keeps collapsing into the playing position....which is quite painful if your fingers happen to be carrying the chair in that region a the time. However, they can be tightened back up - just keep an eye on them.

I use the chair for playing acoustic guitar and am able to achieve a comfortable playing position. Mind you, using the chaor for sustained periods, say longer than an hour can become uncomfortable.

Overall, very happy with the chair. Sturdy, well thought out and good construction. Would recommend to others.

Good build quality, and provides good stability and comfort while practicing as a professional double-bassist at home.
Nearly all parts are adjustable, and stay in place nicely.
Overall, a good product considering the price.

Not as good as i would have hoped

Right, first off this is a well made item. I cant see it breaking any time soon.
However, when I first got it I spent ages trying to adjust it to get it right for me, but just couldn't get comfortable on it. I noticed the seat part is slightly sloped downwards and I kept slipping off it. The next thing I found was that you could easily fall forwards. (it actually happened that while I had my eyes closed playing the guitar, I fell forward and almost broke my 2500 euro taylor!!). Also what happens is your weight is on the front part of the seat, and the rear starts to fold in (like its designed to for storage/transport), this really isn't a good thing when you are sitting on it!
I ended up getting a grinder to it, so that the rear support went back further and it made the whole thing more stable.
I have this a good while now, and have gone back to an ordinary stool.
Its not cheap, and really I think it could be better designed.
Lastly, Its quite heavy, so if you plan on carrying it around with you, forget it. Though weight isn't an issue for me, as its left in one spot in my living room. Personally I couldn't recommend it. I can see this being consigned to my attic eventually.
