Perfectly coordinated

The Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol S88 MkII is the ultimate control centre for any DAW-based studio. It takes working in a software-supported studio to an unprecedented level thanks to several features: A seamless integration of software instruments and effects, as well as extensive visual feedback using two colour displays and the keyboard's innovative Light Guide. This is complemented by the high-quality, fully weighted keyboard with 88 keys and hammer action providing an authentic playing feel - a true pleasure when recording. Working with software instruments has never been more comfortable and intuitive.

Every detail in view

The Komplete Kontrol S88 MkII is perfectly tailored to the instruments and effects of the Native Instruments Komplete Suite. Software instruments can be easily controlled using the keyboard's controls, and tedious parameter assignments are a thing of the past. Presets from Komplete and NKS plug-ins can be browsed and previewed directly on the Komplete Kontrol S88 MkII. And the two high-resolution displays are not the only thing that provides a great overview: The buttons are illuminated in different colours, and the Light Guide above the keyboard shows the positions of sounds, keyboard zones, etc., so you always have everything in view.

Seamless integration

The Komplete Kontrol S88 MkII is not only an intuitive control centre for the instruments and effects of the Komplete package as well as NKS-compatible plug-ins from other manufacturers. It also offers deep, seamless integration with the following DAWs: Apple Logic Pro X, Garageband, Ableton Live, PreSonus Studio One, and Steinberg Cubase and Nuendo. Transport, mixing, and editing functions of the recording software can be operated comfortably by keyboard, so that reaching for the mouse and looking at the computer screen can be frequently avoided. The Komplete Kontrol S88 MkII also works perfectly with the Native Instruments MASCHINE software. No matter which DAW or working method you prefer, with this keyboard you have everything perfectly under control.

About Native Instruments

Native Instruments is a Berlin-based company, founded in 1996, which specialises in products for computer-assisted music production. The company develops a wide variety of products: Software solutions such as Komplete, which hosts a huge range of virtual instruments that emulate both acoustic and electronic instruments in hi-fi quality, and Reaktor, which lets you create your own virtual instruments - through to hardware products such as beat-making and DJ controllers. Native Instruments' goal is to inspire and encourage musicians with its innovative products. To this end, more than 500 people are employed at the company's headquarters in Berlin and at other locations including Los Angeles, Toronto, Tokyo, London, Paris, and Shenzhen.

Infinite configuration options

When used in conjunction with Native Instruments Komplete or Maschine as well as the Logic Pro, Garageband, Studio One, Cubase and Nuendo DAWs, the Komplete Kontrol S88 MkII can fully exploit the potential of the deep integration between software and hardware. Of course, it can also be used to operate other software instruments and MIDI devices. Each control can be individually assigned and named, making it easy to create presets for different instruments. With two pedal inputs, pitch and modulation wheel, touch strip, and eight assignable buttons and knobs each, it offers plenty of controllers for extensive control tasks.

I have chosen the best midi keyboard and I am satisfied.
windlike 26.12.2021
I love playing and composing music on a quality hammer-action keyboard. Therefore, when choosing a midi keyboard, I considered options based on Fatar keybed. The keyboard is made of a very high quality, all keys have the same elasticity when pressed and there is no horizontal backlash, as, for example, in the Korg keyboards. The faders have excellent rotational viscosity, which helps in smoother adjustments. Well, a huge advantage is in the hardware and software native support for NI libraries. I got a great tool and a great positive experience!

E
Flap defect
Evienis 24.11.2023
I received the product via UPS courier services. Unfortunately, the 3rd tab on the left has a defect, when you press it you hear a strange sound "I made a video", I found another problem, on the last tab on the right when you press it you can see the huge scratch with a tint white and the second tab on the right when you hold it down the tab next to it shows dirt from long time use "I took pictures" so in conclusion Thomann gave me a heavily used tab and it was most likely returned to service center for replacement, they almost brought it back to life, cleaned it and sold it to me as new, I feel cheated. Being from Moldova, it will be very difficult for me to return it to Germany. I hope that this will reach the administration and I would like a prompt solution.

S
Great keyboard if you use Native instruments
Semantics 28.07.2021
Great Keyboard, feels great and has all the features i need. however i do not recommend if you don't use native instruments as a lot of the functionality is reliant on komplete kontrol.

Also i have one sticky key on the keyboard which can be a bit annoying.

AL
Perfect for my use, don't buy if you're a pianist.
Axel Lessio 20.09.2023
I use this as a MIDI controller for my own productions with a lot of NI software, and I love it. However, do not expect anything close to a piano playing experience. Almost every other competitor in the market has a better keyboard feel. For example, the S88 has the same weight to all keys. A real piano will feel lighter as you go up the range. So yeah, you will be very disappointed if you're looking for a realistic piano feel. For everything else, it's truly amazing.
