It should be a first brief evaluation. The KH 120 only a few days. But it is the best I've ever heard (or have not heard): the speakers have no real sound. Are thus "neutral". No discolouration. It is a real pleasure to listen to music and to work. Each subtle nuance is displayed. The heights are very pleasant (but are shown precisely), the basses for the size very good. I have only one Adam Sub 8 per channel as a supplement. Thus the KH 120 are relieved and an even more spatial image is obtained (also noticeably better than with only one sub). Also, dancemixes and rumble sounds can be presented. Also not so basslastige music sounds substantially more spatial.

I've heard a lot of speakers. Was in sound studios for comparison listening. There is so much bad in loudspeakers ..... names I would not call. But all brands were in the high end range. Everyone had some weaknesses. The best thing is that the KH 120 is also very good for this sound presentation.

Even beginners should rather save something and then buy these speakers. I would have saved the last 15 years much puzzle riddles and unnecessary sound processing in the mix. It is often said that something is wrong with the recorded instrument. The loudspeakers are the most important link in the recording chain. For with these one can also hear how the other elements behave. I am very grateful for this speaker.
It remains to be seen what Neumann brings as K + H 0300 successor on the market.

My room is about 20sqm in size and for that they are (especially with Sub) absolutely sufficient.

Supplement: even after about a year still fully satisfied. I'm in the loudspeaker "reingehört". It really is that I have not seen the LS since soon after purchase any more. I only hear music. Everything is reproduced unadulterated. Pure listening and working pleasure. Decisions can be made more quickly. The recording and mixing is fast and effective. These speakers remain in my studio. Forever.

As an audio interface, I use the RME Multiface II (because here, too, some sound cards discolor in an unpleasant or falsifying way).

Wonderful!

The Neumann KH120 excellently dissolve. Essentially better than the Emes TV I had before. The KH120 are more honest for my ears and sound so transparent that it has almost spoiled the language. I took the trouble to compare the Emes & the KH120 for a while.

In fact, the Emes, which I thought was extremely good, do not come close to the dissolution, depth staggering, ecotourism ... the KH120.

I hear details that were previously hidden from me. Sensational I find the bass reproduction. Unbelievable how precise the bass and how deep the bass plays for the size. I definitely do not need a sub ...

In comparison, the Emes sound HiFi and color beautifully.

Well, I have two sound cards, because the RME Babyface, for example, does not sound particularly good at the KH120. One of the reviewers lamented the sharp elevation resolution of the KH120. In my perception is however the sharpness however in my example the sound card the USB Interface Babyface owed. Voices do not sound nice, everything is very sharp and hard. However, if my LynxTwo-C is used, the blade turns abruptly. Now I can not hear any sharpness. Another league and the Neumann can now show what they can. For comparison, I had connected the Emu 1616m pci-e.

Even the Emu sounds longer than the Babyface on the KH120. The sound is nen tick brighter than the Lynx, perhaps not quite as clean in the BAss, not quite so bold and transparent in the sum. Nevertheless, the Emu sounds, if the direct comparison to the Lynx would not be already very impressive.

Both cards have the same AD / DA conversion on board.

What I want to say is, the KH120 are only in the position relentlessly the quality of the audio interface to disclose.

Listening to music is a dream. I noticed after a short time no monitors, nothing interferes, it is just music there. Bad recordings also sound badly over the Neumann. There is not dyed for my ears. Good pictures, however, open the KH120. Sensational.

Tomorrow comes still the VIOLECTRIC DAC V800 DA converter ... am times strained whether there is still something goes up ...

My conclusion buy and look.
Do not save on the interface!

The difference between the highly praised Babyface and the Lynx is already really crass. In gearsluts, I even read that some have sold the Lynx for the Babyface ... With the KH120 as monitors, would certainly have been the Babyface on the shooting list ... I would bet ...
