Perfect all-rounder mic.

Perfect mic for vocals and instruments, TLM67 transformerless tube emulation definitely gives the warmth, color and space for the sound. Pros: tube emulation vibe sounds very convincing, and mic doesn't need any special maintenance like a real tube mics do. Sound is very detailed, warm and close to reality. And of course this mic is build like a tank, definitely a workhorse for ages.

Cons: Shockmount is not included.

One more important thing to mention that a high quality xlr cable is highly recommended to get the best and authentic performance from this mic, Neumann IC3, Gotham, or Vovox link protect cables works much better in terms of sound quality and reliability than a 10euro cheap xlr cables. Also properly grounded electric environment is necessary to make TLM67 work without any ground issues.

i don't know how does U67 sound so i'm not comparing.

i bought it because i want Neumann sound on sources the U87 Ai that i have doesn't suit.. the TLM 67 will work great on harsh and very bright sources, takes low frequencies very well.

to sum it up .. anything that sounds harsh or too bright on a U87 Ai, will sound good on TLM 67.

Beware, the mic dosn't come with ANY mount solution... not shock and not regular mount. Everything else is top notch. In my opinion, if you have a good transformer based chanelstrips (solid state and tube) you don't need a u67 or u87. You can tweak the sound to your needs.

I've got about 100 mics. Never really use the TLM67. Gefell UM70 is better. The old U67 is in a completely different league as well.

After buying those mics I kinda made the decision to not buy new Neumann mics anymore.
