Good mouthpiece, not the best fit for me

I found this Otto Link so far not very free blowing, quite the opposite. It's very restrictive. I guess if you want a really dark tone and use lot of subtones then this might be for you. At my current level (beginner-mid) it doesn't feel like the right one for me. Also, I don't know if it's common but the rubber smell/taste when I first opened it was incredibly strong. Way more than usual.

Spiele hauptsächlich Tenorsax und habe mir zu meinem Keilwerth Student Alt das Otto Link Tone Edge Alt 5* gekauft. Hier war bisher nur das Standard Keilwerth Mundstück dabei. Zusammen mit einem Vandoren ZZ 1,5 hab ich sofort gemerkt, dass ist eine Super-Kombination für mich. Ansprache total leicht, super sonorer voller Sound, auch soft, auch ganz unten im Bb. Verarbeitung in Topqualität wie gewohnt bei Otto Link. Bin jetzt schwer am überlegen, ob ich beim Tenor nicht auch nochmal andere Größen ausprobiere. Bin dort bisher bei einem Otto Link Tone Edge 6. Also wenn möglich, am bessten die Mundstücke beim Händler ausprobieren, welche Größe am bessten zu Euch passt. Das Otto Link Tone Edge ist auf alle Fälle eine super Option, wenns in Richtung Jazz geht.

Die Otto Link-Kautschuk-Mundstücke sind ein Klassiker unter den Mundstücken, gespielt von vielen Stars der Jazz und Rockszene. Allerdings darf man nicht vergessen das viele berühmte Vorbilder älter Otto Link Mundstücke spielen, die noch etwas anders klingen als die aktuellen Modelle.

Auf jeden Fall auch aktuell ein sehr empfehlenswertes Mundstück -- ich habe für Alt- Tenor- Sopran und Bariton immer mindestens eins in Betrieb selbst wenn ggf. für Spezialeinsätze gerade andere Mundstücke den Vorzug kriegen.

Die Mundstücke haben eine relative große Kammer und einen vollen Grundklang, den man beliebig formen kann in jede Richtung "scharf", "klassisch" oder "hauchig - Subtone" a'la Stan Getz, je nach Blattkombination und Tonvorstellung.
