The best e-drum module on the planet, period!!!!

The hype is correct, the Mimic Pro is that good.
First and foremost the sounds are amazing. I have owned Alesis, Roland and 2Box modules and the MP out performs all of them. The sample quality is fantastic. I use the module for practice and gigging with my band and it has been excellent in both environments. The interface is very good and the response of the touch screen is superb. Build quality is again top of the line. The unit is very well made and has a heavy duty and robust feel to it. Having looked at the obvious positives of the unit, there are some other points e-drummers need to think about. The MP is NOT a module for the beginner. It is essentially a studio drum computer with great sounds. There is a large learning curve to get to grips with all of the MP's features. You can change every setting and nuance imaginable of the samples in terms of compression, thresholds, dynamics, mic settings (direct and overhead), room settings, fx, mods - this is a small sample of the options available!!! The customisation options are endless. Invest time to understand the module and you will have the best e-drum experience possible.

Bestklingendes Drum Modul, ja aber

Das Mimic ist an sich ein tolles E-Drum Modul. Die Sound klingen fantastisch und die Unterstützung von vielen Pad-Varianten gut umgesetzt. Man hat ziemlich viele Möglichkeiten alles an das eigene Spielverhalten anzupassen. Allerdings gibt es auch einige Wehrmutstropfen: Zum Beispiel empfinde ich die Bedienung per Touch teilweise noch etwas unrund. Wer iPad erwartet wird enttäuscht. In manchen Einstellungsebenen wirkt das Ganze sehr frickelig. Das könnte Pearl durch ein Update verbessern, haben sie aber bislang nicht.
Was mir auch nicht gefallen hat, war dass man nicht ganz so frei Sounds kombinieren kann (z.B. Schellenkranz auf Hihat oder eine 2. Hihat geht nicht). Auch ist das Feeling im direkten Vergleich zu einem Roland mit den digitalen Pads nicht auf Augenhöhe (Latenz und Präzision).
Für alle, die auch gerne mal Elektrosounds nutzen oder damit unterfüttern wollen: Macht euch darauf gefasst euch One Shot Samples zu besorgen. Das Mimic hat keine mit dabei.
Was für mich vollkommen unverständlich ist, ist dass man das Modul nicht per USB an einen PC/Mac anschließen kann. Hier muss ein MIDI-USB Adapter odereine Soundkarte mit MIDI-In vorhanden sein oder angeschafft werden.

Ich habe es am Ende durch ein Roland TD27 mit digitaler Snare und Ride ersetzt, da das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis dabei aus meiner Sicht unterm Strich besser ist. Auch wenn die Sounds auf dem Mimic besser sind.

Module idéal

Depuis que j'ai ce module Mimic Pro je prends et ressent un réel plaisir à jouer sur des pads et cymbales électroniques.
J'ai déjà joué pendant quelques temps sur d'autres Modules mais là je suis pleinement satisfait sauf du prix bien sûr !
Je passe le côté pécunier pour me concentrer sur le module, sa facilité d'utilisation (avec un peu de temps passé dessus à bien comprendre les mécanismes), son SON !! Et aussi son utilisation au quotidien, à la maison en répétitions ou en concert.
Je joue tous les jours avec, en concert avec notre groupe on est unanime sur l'utilité de l'avoir car maintenant on branche et on joue on passe 10 -15 minutes à faire les balances selon les salles et c'est parti (jouer en bar avec un batterie électronique ouvre beaucoup de portes). Je suis entièrement convaincu avec ce module. Par contre, je pense qu'il faut avoir de bons pads et cymbales pour en profiter pleinement, pour en plus du son avoir une sensation de jeu. Je joue toujours sur mon acoustique pour avoir ce côté plus vivement ,notamment la caisse claire et cymbales au touché. Pour moi cet achat est totalement justifié car je l'utilise tous les jours et il me le rend bien.
Seul point négatif son prix mais ... c'est pareil ailleurs en moins bien !
