Great Practice Amp
Ginblue 01.03.2020
I was on the fence between this and the Fender Rumble and fell to the Phil Jones. Got to say I'm vary happy with my choice, the Rumble is a fine amp also but a little overly warm for my taste. The Phil Jones is light, compact and well made, its ideal for my use, which home practice.

Its not packed with features but has all the things you really need, I don't see the need for distractions in a practice amp. What is there works well.

Four stars for sound? There is nothing wrong with the sound which is great for its intended use. I've dropped a star simply because it is limited by its size and maybe is a touch to "clean" but i'm willing to concede that that's partly down to my bass which is quite bright. You could see this as a positive as it allow the true tone of the instrument to come through.

I can say overall I'm happy with this amp. It fore fills its role very well and has enough volume to annoy the rest of the household should you wish to do so!

M
Ideal practice and café amp
Mark64bass 28.03.2024
Bass amplification has come a long way since the days (the 60's/70's in my case) when you needed to haul around an Ampeg stack of 3 15"s or maybe one 18" or a bunch of repurposed Marshalls to adequately project bass frequencies. This little box is liftable with one finger yet reproduces a low B without complaint. It doesn't have an excess of power (I leave the Volume all the way up usually and the gain pretty high) but one could feed the PA if it came to that. It is also sturdy with a thoughtful metal bar protecting the controls.

Es ist unglaublich,
SiegmarHorst 11.08.2019
Kleine Gigs, Clubs, Bars alles Bestens.
